Most of the prize boxes are a free gift that come with purchasing energy... With this one people are expected to dish out around 6 dollars worth of energy for only a 15% chance to get something good? I just do not understand the thought process here...

Didn't the old system require you to spend at least $10 for a price box? And that was when energy was actually used for other things.

Hmm

I prefer these type of promos, it means everyone can now get boxes. Before if you didnt have a means to buy CE you were unable to get any boxes. Now anyone willing enough to put out some of their hard earned CE can get them.

Normally I buy 2 promo boxes and check if I get anything good. This time I was lucky enough to get something rare (shield) since the odds are nice this time. Compared to other promos (Ie: surge, hunter) 15% is amazing, plus there are 3 prizes in that category.

it's better like this.

Keep in mind, these aren't just accessories you can get. You can snag 5 star items. Which are worth far more than $6USD in CE-USD conversion.

I was never fond of the previous distribution system, if only because it favored people who dropped bigger bucks, who were already getting more bang for their buck buying mass quantities of CE.

At least this way it helps keep the supply in check and keeps people from price gouging the everliving *&(% out of something that's essentially gotten for free.

Wow

Wow, I never thought about it like that before.

By changing it so that boxes can only be purchased with an average dollar payment worth of CE, it reduces the benefit that real money players get compared to how it used to be.

But at the same time, it encourages broader real money payments across the playerbase to get the boxes specifically. Whoever came up with that sure earned their paycheck.

As a longtime player, I was confused as to why this change was a good thing, both for me, and OOO. Now I understand.

Only 15% chance? Looks like a 100% chance to me.

15%

I assume he's referring to The Bitter End, which is the only thing in the entire list that actually does anything.

.

Instead of bringing more CE into the economy, this is event is a CE sink. The only element of this event that may bring more CE into the game is the Guardian Armor Pack price drop, which may get me to spend some $$$, but otherwise that's it. Expect CE prices to rise due to this event and OCH being made purchasable with CE.

@Batabii

Who buys the pack for the functionality? If you wanted a Grey Owlite Shield, you'd just buy one from the supply depot.
