Elite and Normal mode got changed, nobody told us

Splingush told me earlier today that his friend observed enemies on Elite having less health than previously. Naturally I put it to the test, and it turned out to be correct.

Enemies used to have 3/2 more health on Elite than Advanced, this has been reduced to 5/4.

Enemies on Normal used to have 2/3 the health on Normal compared to Advanced. This has been increased to 4/5.

I assume this was done to make Elite more worth it in terms payout vs time, and Normal less so.

Note that I've only tested this on Slags at D24.

No. It doesn't have to do anything with being really good at killing monsters. It's true.

I've noticed it too. I just did Elite C42, and it turns out that I used about 4 - 5 Gran Faust combos to kill a slime jelly. It used to take me 6 - 7 hits to kill a slime jelly.

I tested slag health back when Elite and Normal came out. It was definitely higher before on Elite and lower on Normal compared to the results I got today.

It did become easier. Slags on D27 Elite took 3 glacius charges(w/o explosions) to kill, now only 2 and one regular swipe. Thats why i asked my party if we were on elite, they said we were.They said we were all just pros, and using the vortex/charge. But no. Its easier now ^_^

no, everything got nerfed. That doesn't mean they're any less OP in arenas. OP=overpowered. Which means stronger than they should be, compared to other enemies. If every enemy in the game lost the same percentage of hp, they're all just as balanced or unbalanced as they were before.

Sometimes you overkill by a lot, sometimes you don't. Jelly swords do that a lot, Antiguas don't.

Batty, can you show me how to apply fractional hits for fractional time costs? I haven't figured out how to do it, so this change affects monster balance in chaotic ways for clueless players like myself.

less hp = less damage bonus needed to knock out/cancel their charge attack. That means instead of you need like damage max sword with full combo to knock a strong monster, now you can knock them the same way with like damage medium bonus.

I can confirm that Elite has been tampered.

My resistance and my friend immunity went away. I now take fire during my C42 runs and he takes fire, even with 2X fire max and 1 ele max on Vog set.

hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm

He used to take 1 sec fire or none and now it's 3 or none. I get 3 sec fire -_-

I also think that the damage of Elite enemies has been increased. At any rate, the Lumbers that were almost breaking my 3* Skelly Shield are now completely breaking my 4* Skelly Shield while also inflicting Stun.

You sure you're not just seeing the second variable being applied on the shield? (Depth also affects this too) I don't remember exactly if a Tier 2 Lumber has a 100% chance of inflicting Stun on Elite (Know this is the case for Tier 3) or if it was a secondary-status Lumber? (IE: Silversap - Freeze, etc)

I don't think Damage is really been buffed but I'll check in Return of Ur later today to see if there's any difference in damage done to the shield.

Yeah, Dragon Scale doesn't do it. It seems most oilfire is perfectly fine to walk through, but the oil that toxoils deliberately splats around (they stop up and make a splatting sound) is a bit stronger. There's basically no way to tell the difference after the fact.

I've always felt that it was the polyps who drop stronger oilfires, as in they can poison a full dragon scale.

I also think that the strength of whatever applied fire to the goo is the strength of the fire that becomes aflame. I remember walking through the oiled floor and lighting everything, including myself, due to a fire applied by the gremlins.

Not 100% sure though.

Decided to do a test tonight, Damage wasn't increased at all. Damage done to the Ancient Plate Shield was the same when I originally tested it on the 8th of this month.

However, Health of enemies was indeed reduced. When running through Return of Ur - Depth 20 on Elite, it took three Dark Briar Barrages to kill Devlites with Damage Bonus: Very High, this time it only took two times.

On client side health was set

On client side health was set : normal-80%, advanced-100%, elite-125%, but on server it was: normal-66.67%, advanced-100%, elite- 150%
Now we have first variant on both sides.

I really don't like they'd change it without reason, or at least a reason we don't know. Elite is too easy now. Simple as that. I liked the challenge and now that's gone ounce again. If anything they could have made it a bit harder then what it was. If someone wanted it easy just do it on Normal.

c42 getting buffed happened before this update.

1 fire max used to make me fire immune on C42 (high on sprite, high on gear) I use sword DMG Med now instead of my fire UV. C42 is the only prestige mission I do regularly because I enjoy it... I doubt there was a change within the last weeks...

And my friend 2X fire max 1X elem max used to take 1 sec fire or 0 on FSC accross all depths, now it does 3 sec fire on D24...

Happy I didn't hold on to that wolver coat fire max
