I hate FSC
That place bores me to death before all the slags can even get to me.
The only time I will go to the Fire Storm Citadel is when I need some tokens to get Vana's boss rewards from Brinks. Still, I haven't gone enough times to get all 30 seals needed for a Blackened Crest. My Crest of Almire will never be created because I like the arcade more than Lockdown or FSC...

Generalising?
I'm a Vanguard and I barely farm KoA, I get all my money from arcade and flipping things in the AH along with recipes and selling pet food.
What made you think that every vanguard farms KoA, or has to? (OCD?)

Mainly because it's the best place for Crowns, Heat CE, and other things. But occasionally I get out to look for different materials or lower-level craft orbs. But unlike most people, I seem to have the time of my life down there (as in not getting the slightest bit bored), regardless of my filling Vanaduke's face full of golden needles over a million times. Heck, That place saved my butt so I could win my bid on a cool item in the Auction house for 100K less than its average buy price, AND get my Maskeraith the Elite Piercing Harness on the same day. Relentless, on it, never bored (for whatever reason).

Hmm
After doing FSC more times than I can count, I now only do FSC if someone asks me to join them. Otherwise I'm off in the arcade, enjoying the RNG.
FSC does have better payout/heat/predictability. If that is what someone finds the most enjoyable, then more power to them. People should do what they find fun.

I don't farm
I don't farm Vanaduke...really I just go on arcade runs most of the time or play Lockdown. Typically, I will do maybe 1-10 FSC runs every 1-3 months. Haven't done one in probably a month and a half (and the one that I did was me and a friend using only Callahans the ENTIRE time-which was successful [no deaths on boss for both]).

I only do vana when I need
I only do vana when I need fire crystals or orbs. That place bores me to death. I'm an arcade fan.
I've fought Vanaduke once, and I'm rather happy with my equips. :)
