In the new into scene, I noticed the knights only have 4 fingers in each panel (thumb, index, middle, ring/little) to I guess make it a bit more cartoony. Remembering that, I just previewed myself in game. Knights in game have 5 digits (thumb, index, middle, ring, and little). No big secret, just thought it was worth pointing out.

Well, uh ...
Maybe their hands are actually mechanical additions to their arms or something? I don't know why exactly it would be of benefit to only have four fingers on board a ship and five fingers planetside, but if there was such a reason it's a halfway plausible explanation.
Maybe they are all amputees. Don't judge.
