Remember that you don't really need Radiant Crystals. All your 5* stuff works fine without 'em. Getting to level 10 is just icing on the cake. SO if you cannot heat up your 5* stuff, don't worry. It's not as bad as not being able to get 4* Crystals, which you need to progress.

I'm making this thread because in another place where I posted this realization, I got ignored...

Or you can just hunt boxes in

Or you can just hunt boxes in "Alone in the Dark" and "FSC" on elite millions of times over and over and over again.

I've known that for a while. And I don't care enough for Radiants anyways. I'm a PvEr, not a PvPer. And I've never cared much for heating my 5 star items anyways.

Except due to the quirky

Except due to the quirky nature of SK's tier+stratum system, your fully heated 4* gear is probably better than your newly crafted but unheatable 5* gear. So no free ctr med for you!

Radiants still do drop but rarely, I got a set of 3 from a d28 map today... and a set of 3 glowings from a stratum 5 treasure vault?

Actually, the bonuses from my Shadosun are a different kind of bonus from my old Sunset. And it has a different defense type as well. The same goes for my Vog Cub cap.

"Getting to level 10 is just icing on the cake."
But without icing, cake isn't cake. It's just a loaf of sweet bread.

Actually, it is cake. Because it has layers of both sweet dough and cream.

Bingo. SK's system was not designed for items to be unable to easily reach their maximum level.

Which is why crystal drop rates for Shinings and Radiants MUST be increased dramatically!!! I personally feel a bit meh on this situation. The only reason why I would really want to heat my Shadowsun would be for better damage bonuses. Ah well.

I can see more people will be using lvl10 4* bombs, and any weapons with a powerful, spamable charge. Maybe even some armors.

Well, at least I look on the bright side of life.

Once I get 17 more Krogmo Coins, I'll be heating my Boltbrand to death.

I don't get why they had to make the extreme change from radiants dropping starting from d22 to d28. Isn't there a nice middle ground to start dropping Radiants, you know, d24?

It's pretty counterproductive

It's pretty counterproductive to the claim that OOO made just two months ago (maybe 3?) about wanting to see more diversity in armors that are used.

How are we expected to diversify if we're being shafted at the same time? All this is going to do is stagnate the end-game to the point that no one's going to want to make anything new because they're not interested in the time investment it looks like it's going to take on this new unannounced system change.

To put it in context, it's now arguably more economically friendly to just make a bunch of 5* armors and only spend 9 crystals to heat them one level and gamble for a Radiant Forge Box with the current drop rates. At least then, I get 41 crystals back (since they give 50 I believe), a free UV roll of some kind and some alchemy orbs that I'll use to make more 5* armors.

This is the last straw for

This is the last straw for me. Even as a gunner, I no longer feel excited about the upcoming gunner update. I'm converting all my valuables and crowns to energy and fulfilling some agreements with friends, then I'm going to take a break from the game. And you know what, I rarely ever come back to old games.

So, good luck, and thanks for all the fishes!

Zipb: like you I'm pretty

Zipb: like you I'm pretty annoyed with this radiant situation, and playing less because, well, there is less for me to do now. If I wasn't in a great guild I wouldn't be playing at all.

I do love SK though so I'm going to give OOO some time to fix this. How much time I don't know - I guess until my patience, which is already being sorely tested, finally runs out. But they deserve a chance to put things right - letting us know just what the heck is going on would be a good start.
It's been 48 hours since the patch, I urge you to just give them a bit more time to get to grips with this. And if something doesn't change by, for example, later next week, then I think there will be quite a few following you out the door.

Thank you for that! But like I said, this isn't the only reasons. And I'll still be around for a few days to wrap things up.

I don't wanna say I'm gonna

I don't wanna say I'm gonna quit, because that's premature at this stage. Annoyed a a player? Yes, but not having a huge cow yet.

But I will say I've been playing less. Since there's not much point. I'd play if there was a friend or to farm OCH, but not really playing as much as the weeks prior to the recent update.

The reason is, there's not much incentive for me as an end game player. I suppose now's a good time to stock up in shinings so I can heat up my 4*, only I don't have any 4* and I'm reluctant to get new 3/4*, because I can't find Elite Orbs. I guess I could buy the orbs, which would of course, benefit the game (as a business), but then, what's the incentive for the player if upgrading your weapon will give you a handicap?

Thing with games is, it's a matter of incentives. You need your F2P players to populate your game world and then there's your P2P player, who wants to have better stuff than your F2P peons, some of whom might pull the trigger so they can catch back up with the P2P. Now, if this was WoW with all the crazy players, going this route might not be a bad idea. Those crazies would be willing to drop the moolah. I'm not sure SK has as many crazies though...

Anywho, just my opinions and stuff. I'm willing to wait it out a bit more. But I still wanna say, this does not seem to be a customer friendly way to intro a new "pay scheme". You might not lose that many actual players, but you're alienating your long time loyals.

I don't know why this surprises anybody.

They added the Hall of Heroes, destroying most of Basil's purpose and deleting part of the economy.

They added the Supply Depot, destroying any reason to sell things that have no UVs and deleting another part of the economy.

They put accessories on the SD, damaging the accessory market, especially for those who chose to hold onto theirs until the "right time."

They removed minerals' original purpose, making the Arcade completely obsolete, effectively deleting it.

And, to top it all off, they pay no heed whatsoever to the problems involving their minigames.

Line all that up and it spells "we don't actually play the game, so we really don't know how to fix its issues."

lol alpha. GMs have civillian accounts. and devs get paid. nick loves the game, I'm sure he has done a couple of runs in the near past.
as for what you said:
yes they did.
maybe you haven't seen the horrible high priced they have.
for now only a few accessories have been damaged, I'm sure everybody is selling right now.
"not final release", damn. I'm sure the key mechanic of the game will get fixed, since FSC is not the most profitable place for everybody. for now.
problems on minigames< problems on main game. no, seriously, if equipment was banaced, which is a game issue, maybe LD would be better.

>GMs have civillian accounts.

Oh, I'm sure they do - but they don't interact with the community and economy the way we do.

>for now only a few accessories have been damaged, I'm sure everybody is selling right now.

It may be insignificant, but it's still a good example of how little they understand our economy.

>"not final release", damn.

I know, but they let that kind of oversight go by for months with no fixes.

>problems on minigames< problems on main game. no, seriously, if equipment was banaced, which is a game issue, maybe LD would be better.

The point is that Lockdown has been out for two years and little to no heed has been given to its problems. Yes, it's a game issue. No, it shouldn't take two years to find a fix.

I don't mean to sound like I hate the game or its developers, I just dislike their Mojang mentality - update once in a blue moon and only fix the issues that are easy to fix.
