For the Vanguards: how long did it take you to beat the game? Are you F2P or P2P? Do you have a job or go to school?
For the Champions: How far are you in the game? When do you expect to finish it? Are you F2P or P2P? Do you have a job or go to school?
Oh and when I ask how long, I'm asking in real time.

Ex: I am a champion. My next mission is Terminal Meltdown. I am F2P and go to school. I expect to finish around thanksgiving.

Just trying to find the expected/average time to beat the game.

I'm a Vanguard, and it took

I'm a Vanguard, and it took me 2 years since the missions to beat it (February of this year. Kept fooling around for months while stuck on the 8-2 missions instead of actually doing them despite me joining like 3 days after beta was over. LOOOOOOOOONG before there were missions.).

I'm [mostly] F2P. I always bought my CE with crowns. And I bought OCH with a Steam card from my hard-earned allowance.

I'm still 2 years too young to have a job, although I technically have one. I have to vacuum my computer room, take out the trash, feed my pets, and other things with a payment of 10 US Dollars every 2 weeks. My boss is my mother. Does being homeschooled count as the being in school option? I'm in 8th grade so I guess that's technically high-school.

EDIT: Witty comment added.

I was a Champion for far too long.

I just recently beat "King of Ashes," with a Prestige of almost 15,000.

The last Hall of Heroes was amazing. I should have beaten Vanaduke a long time ago.

Allow me to introduce my myself.

Played for about 25 day in game time. A year and half in real life, on my way to university, planning on do art for living. Sadly, my SK fan art are just too bad for me to up load and I hate criticism.

I am F2P, coz paying for something that doesn't exist is stupid.

Well.

I'm a student, so I go to school.

Took me about a week in real time to become Vanguard, so ~50 hours? I was P2P, Elevator Pass. I didn't buy anything with CE, though. Everything revolved around my Ele Pass.

My my, I play this game far too much

I'm a student, however I also have a job. I have over 44 days played (I believe that's what the number on the far left is) on my character, and I probably spent about 20 of those becoming a Vanguard. For whatever reason, I assumed Vanaduke would be so much harder before I actually fought him, and then it was a cakewalk from there.
I do spend money from time-to-time. Seeing as I have an expendable income, I like to support a game that gives me so much entertainment. I bought elevator passes in the past, and continue to buy energy occasionally now(usually when a new promotion comes out).

I have been playing since october 2011 (I think) I became a Champion 2 weeks ago actually. I was spending all my time trolling people in pvp when a 4* noob killed em. I am a student. Calculated things, and i have been playing for 1411 hours. To put that in perspective, that is 58 days I have been playing for Also i rounded down, so I've played more than that. I payed for OCH because I wanted to help the game develop and have fun myself meanwhile.

I was a vanguard on the 2nd day of the missions existing. It took me about 4-5 months to get my 5* gear together, but that was a long time ago; the game was quite a bit different then.

I am P2P, but I got to Vanguard and crafted all of my gear before giving OOO money. I gave them money because I was happy that Nick made an update that I actually felt good about. All of the energy I received went into costume items; it feels wrong to spend it on gear imo.

I'm a Vanguard, got to the rank the second day after the missions past RT were released. I started playing in 2011, and remained F2P until November of 2012, when the Guardian Armor pack was a mere $10. Otherwise, I was purely F2P, was in school, had no job. It took me roughly... Four or five months to reach my first 5* set. It took me longer than necessary because I was obsessed with making Tier 2 Lockdown sets before progressing forward. That, and I wanted Voltedge to be my first 5* sword.

I'm Vanguard, I have spent money, but I wouldn't say I'm "Pay to play." I spent about $10 during the first Winterfest, which helped me in the 4* to 5* transition.

So let's see.... I started playing SK in late July of 2011. As I stated before, I got my 5* items during the first Winterfest, around mid January. I went on my first Vanaduke run around mid November, but that was when it was considered a trial by fire, where your pro friends would tell ya it was a good idea, and then watched/laughed as you scrambled/panicked around in your 4* gear... at least that was how my friends treated it xD. They did make it a lot more fun than it sounded, and I miss doing that with other players. This was also back before ranks existed... so technically I got Vanguard rank a few days after it was available (only ran them on mist).

Yes, I am in school. I was in high school for most of my SK life, playing about an hour or two after school every day. Now I am in college so I do have much more time.

I've beaten vanaduke numerous times, and my prestige outranks some vanguards.

I just refuse to change my title by completing HoH. I like how "champion" sounds over "Edward van - guard".

I joined the game the day it came out on steam, it took me about 4 months to beat the game F2P, after that I became P2P because I wanted to use unlimited elevators and the fact that I'm impatient and needed energy for crafting/selling.

I'd already had 5* stuff when the missions came out so for me they were a breeze and took a couple of weeks to complete. Mist Energy was still a thing at the time. I was still F2P then.

I still consider myself F2P now, even though I've bought some Elevator Passes in the past and an Energy pack. I've gotten nearly all my stuff through grinding.

I went to 4* F2P. At that point, I was enjoying the game enough to justify some spending to break into 5* proper.

Definitely worth spending some money to get a starter pack or battle pack, especially if you can get some friends to split the cost for a party pack.

@OP

I'm a Vanguard, 17k prestige, F2P. Took me 6 months to reach end-game. I wasted too much time at buying 2* items, bought many 2* swords from the AH and then I didn't see them in my inventory, so I thought that "The AH scammed me!". I even reached 4* (3->4*) faster than I did reach 3* (2->3*). I wanted to have 3 swords so I crafted 3 swords which slowed me down.
As for "real time", IDK. I started playing in the end of August 2012 and became Vanguard at the end of Winterfest. That's probably 25-30 days, I played every single day while studying in school (was one of the most important years for me).

And you can't really find "average time" because you will become Vanguard faster if you grind FSC than if you run Arcade for fun. You could add this a question in the OP.

Gah where to start? I don't even know how to do this

I am a champion. My next mission is The King Of Ashes. I am not that far into the game, the only 5* I currently have is dread skelly set and a glacius. I do not, however, know when I expect to finish. I am F2P, but I have paid $20 for a steam card and bought the starter pack. I'm too young to have a job, and I am also homeschooled if that counts (But when I try to learn stuff, I feel like everything goes through 1 ear and out the other :/ ). Vanguard - Been playing since April 26 2011, was waiting till I turned 13 ( I'm 15, now. ) so I wouldn't break the terms of service.. I was scared ninja's were going to hurt me if I didn't obey rules back then.. (Good parenting, eh?) .

5 days total game play time to reach full 5 star gear in F2P ( This was when energy was around 3k crowns / 100 energy, with no binding system )

Took me about two weeks after the missions was released to reach Vanguard. ( Didn't do any prestige missions from when they were released. Excluding event missions, of course. )

Student.

F2P till 2012 october-ish then my cousin bought me the DLC.

65 days game play time in total.

It honestly depends, if you became a Vanguard prior to the BIG update or not.
I joined the game almost 2 months before the update occurred; I had a P2P friend who last minute gifted me some of CE before they quit for a few months (to upgrade my 4* stuff.) Another friend also randomly Steam gifted me the DLC, which I didn't do until I was a Vanguard since it was extremely difficult at the time.

OVERALL: It took me a roughly a month and a half to become a Vanguard. I am F2P. Regardless of my crazy generous friends, I refuse to pay my own wages. Though I'm in school currently, I'm still very active since I use the game as a break between my studies and such. :P

I started somewhere in the spring or summer of 2011 and my first site purchase was in October of 2011. I became Vanguard about a month ago. I was a serious P2P'er, as in I carried the site for all of you. I paid for all your servers to play on for free and paid OOO's staff. Sometimes I work and sometimes I do whatever I want. I have at least a hundred 5*'s items I can not heat/level. I stopped playing/paying during this DHF when the radiant drop was lowered and they decided to make things harder again because of those who spammed the event to death. They tainted one of their best events with ugliness and upset trying to sneak a get rich scam into the event update like we are stupid and wouldn't notice. I will not play/pay again until they figure out how to make the game fun again, treat us with respect and stop screwing with us and our games and find a way to make those obsidian weapons obtainable to all of the veteran players and noobs they locked out of the event with that "harder" change mid-way through the event.

Ember-Break is here~

Vanguard~! I finished all of the Missions through about 3 Months. But the main reason for that is because I couldn't finish off the Gauntlet Solo and took a break for a bit. If I condensed all of the game time then... A couple of days (like around 48-72 hours) to finish all of the Missions.
As for gear... I started before Missions or anything, so about 2 Months to collect all of that just on Mist energy. A translation of that with the current game would probably be about 2 weeks.
I bought 2 Elevator Passes total and a friend of mine has gifted me CE and OCH before but... I'm now F2P, because I don't need to spend anything to play as long as I want now.
I've been going to school throughout my SK career and I haven't had a job throughout. Fun times, fun times.

All the fun.

Name's Moogaffy and I'm a vanguard. I started playing SK at the beginning of August 2013. My friend was, and still is, completely addicted to this game, and soon enough, got me into it.

Anywho, I completed all the missions in about two and a half months. A lot of that time was spent on doing stuff in real life because school work and whatnot. I ended up getting stuck on Weight of Darkness for a while because fiends are the bane of my existance, and got stuck again on Vanaduke. I can thank my guildies for helping me with that latter. I've clocked a bit over 200 hours so far, and that number is still rising.

I'm mostly F2P, but I've spent some money to get a shadow key and a few silver keys.

I'm in school right now, and high school is downright terrible, I'll tell you that much. I don't have a job right now, but I can and probably will get one in the next few years.

It took me nine months to beat the game. I did not rush my progress and remained guild-less as I made an event out of every little thing. It made my progress through the game and appreciation for what it offered all the more enjoyable. Because I have a F2P account on my system and wanted to get rid of it, I am a P2P. Last December, I graduated with my BS and I have been working a year before I started school. I plan to return, however. And if you wanted to collect data (only if) then would you have asked these questions through a form made in Google Drive?

Error: Axe Required For Process

I'm a champion on King of Ashes. I've been playing since mid to late Beta, but have been inactive for periods of several months before going in again... I'd estimate my actual playtime as a year to year-and-a-half. Even so, I'm a relatively experienced solo player that expects to kill Vanaduke proper in the course of a month at most. If, I must add, I were to commit to the effort-- I've no huge drive to "beat the game" honestly, though being a Vanguard is kinda cool. I'm a F2P at heart and usually earn all that I use the hard way, none of that auction house for instant 5* hogswash. But on occasion I buy CE, mostly to fund my ridiculous determination down in missions when I'm out of sparks. Which, regrettably, is pretty often. I'm presently unemployed in a post-highschool miasma, but intend to get a job as soon as the employer I'm looking at starts accepting applications again for the year.

Vanguard, took about 2 years to get there. I started on the steam launch (june 2011) and stayed at Knight Elite for about a year because T2 LD. Then Honor stuff came about and I was PO'ed about not getting 5* honor gear, so I went up to vanguard from there. I stopped at Defender Elite(4*) for a while (maybe a month or two) and I've been vanguard for about 6 months now. F2P the whole way, in grade school/not college. Got OCH through a steam trade for a haunted aura.

(Although, with my experience I could probably get to vanguard in a month if I started over and just powerleveled in RJP all day erryday.)

If we wanna get technical,

If by beat, you mean missions, about a week. Otherwise, about 6 months as content was released. P2P, simply to accelerate crafting and nothing else. Both a job and college the entire time I've played.

If we wanna get technical, completion wise I've been a "Vanguard" since before there were missions. Beat everything, even hit a couple Shadow Lairs before Missions showed up.

I tell you, it's annoying as hell to catch crap from someone for having low prestige when you've been playing for more than two years more than them.

I joined in January 2012, a few months before the missions were released. At that time, I believe I was 3*/4*. The missions were easy enough, and I had a relatively easy time (compared to other's) transitioning to 5* because I had grinded RJP a lot before missions came out, and had worked up a mini fortune. It was about 6 months after I started playing (maybe a bit later) that I got a full set of 5* items. Ive been F2P since the start and have gone the long way getting things. So... recap.

It was about June 2012 when I reached 5* and the Champion-Vanguard missions were a piece of cake. Also, I'm F2P. Oh, and I do go to school.

I think that's it.

PS: I actually first found out about SK in September 2011, but didn't start actually playing it till January the next year.

how long did it take you to beat the game?
Being a pre-Missions Knight, I'm just going to go by how long it actually took me to achieve end-game back then, which in my case would be about four months and nine days. Yeah.

Are you F2P or P2P?
I am a paying player.
