Do you think releasing SK on consoles and phones would be a good move?

I think it would.
On consoles, we can do the same type of thing done with Minecraft. (It wouldn't be P2P) and this would bring in hoards of new players.
On the app/google play store, the gaming industry is quickly rushing over to mobile devices. I'm not saying we would share servers with these phone players (The controls...) , but this would be a large source of income for OOO and source of popularity. (OOO could monetize the mobile version as much as they want, because all good app makers do that with their apps)
All in all, this would give SK an upper hand, and more importantly, the dough.
I'm not very sure why they haven't done it. Lack of money maybe?
Put what YOU think about it.

It's much more complicated

It's much more complicated than you're making it out to be, and a major risk to any game that wasn't developed with those platforms in mind. Not sure how the programming language translates across the platforms, but I would guess not very easily.

Unless they do something like Battlefield 4's Commander Mode, where you can continue to rank up playing on a Tablet, I would like to see a Spiral Knights App that allows you to play Mini-Games(possibly based off of the Coliseum) that rewards you with Krogmo Coins & Crowns.

Not sure about Consoles. I'm not sure how I'd play with a Controller.

@Rating It is pretty hard, but it would be a good step forward.
@Pipipipipi The Phone version would probably be a cheap knock off of SK, and wouldn't even play the same way probably.
@Bitsbee Well... Many good players play with controllers.(Guilty as charged) If you are good with controler games you'd probably be good at SK with it. I am very good at Halo, and that is probably why it is easy for me.

I've played SK with an SNES controller and it feels awesome.

No. I don't think spending a ton of time and money to make a mobile port of a relatively unpopular game would be a good move.

Putting SK on a smartphone wouldn't work because the screen is too small and your finger's too big for the precision that is demanded by the late game. While tablets would mitigate that problem, mobile devices, at least from my experience, tend to have connections that are quite a bit more unstable, something that would make SK literally unplayable.

As for consoles, there's no question the controls would work fine and it would hit a large audience. However, since SK itself already supports controllers, any modern PC could be this "console," and it's therefore probably not worth the time and expense to make such a port. Additionally, console ports would probably have to have totally separate servers from the PC version:

The Xbox One is technically capable of supporting cross-platform play, but Microsoft is not currently allowing it, according to War Thunder developer Gaijin Entertainment CEO Anton Yudintsev.
...
Why would Microsoft block cross-platform play? According to Yudintsev, Microsoft needs to certify game servers as a means to ensure a "good experience" for all players.

No.

If you've seen the other thread trending right now on a similar subject, you'll already know what I'm about to say.

Three Rings' target market is those who can pay money, or those who can tell other people to pay money on their game. Honestly, I'm not too familiar with console ports, but I would assume microtransactions could be a heck of a lot longer or more difficult on those platforms, plus those who own consoles are probably wanting an action game or puzzle game opposed to a cutesy free-to-play grindfest. Mobile devices could get more paying customers, but the control scheme would be pretty wonko, plus without an offline mode, you might be constantly kicked from the game from an iffy wi-fi signal, even more so than a laptop.

In short, would porting it over to new devices make new players pay money, existing players pay money, or bring in an influx of free-to-players who will verbally spread the game? The answer is probably no to all of those, and thus is not worthwhile.

^ About what I wanted to say, just too effort-consuming with little to no gain.

To add-on, since everyone here already have a PC anyway (I mean who would have an Xbox/PS but no PC?), it's simply just easier to play on PC. Want that xbox/ps feel? Connect controller to PC.

Heart of Valor.

Like someone said before me, there wouldn't be enough profit for it to be worth it. Unless SK put up some very attractive advertisements, the small player base and cash wouldn't be able to support it.
