Prologue: Welcome to...The Clockworks
I struggled against my enemy, a wolver, hacking and stabbing it with my Flourish. As he kept rushing forwards and trying to eat my head off, I stabbed and kicked it back. I decided to rush forward and stab it over and over. It let out one final yelp and dropped dead on the spot. I felt a bit disgusted by the state the corpse was in, but I felt satisfied too; that isn't going to be coming to my campsites and trying to devour me in it's sleep.
Wait a second.
I forgot to introduce myself.
I'm Ruby, an everyday knight working for the Spiral Order. I usually just explore to my heart's content when I'm not getting brutally mauled by the fauna and sometimes the flora. I just usually like to adventure by myself.
I ventured forward. I trekked through the tunnels, looking in awe at the sights and scenery. Soon enough, I came across a rather nice spot to set up camp for the night. Just before I unpacked my camping gear, I heard a loud ring in my ears.
Great. What does she want? I answered the comlink call.
"Crimson! How are you doing out there?"
"I'm doing just fine, Emerald. Why'd you call at this time?"
"I just wanted to see how you were doing."
"Hmm, then. See you soon."
I ended the call with Emerald. I began setting up camp.
I just hope I don't have another night where a chromalisk decides it would be funny to lick the back of my head when I'm sleeping.
But that's just the consequences of being someone who explores a lot.
