I got a shining forge prize box today and I'm not sure wether I should use it or sell it.

What can be found inside? Are they worth a decent amount of money?

I'm not really one for gambling so I'd rather sell it but if it isn't really worth something I guess I'd rather use it for myself.

Sell it. Only useful thing is the SoL(s) and the UV variant ticket.

You can find sparks, shinning fire crystals because it came from a shinning forge box, a 1/2/3 UV ticket, and an orb for crafting.
I sold mine for about 90k or 100kcr. But the price may be different now.

4 star orbs are the biggest

4 star orbs are the biggest pain to get, SoL are always good to have handy, UV tickets of any kind are appreciated (unless you have everthing perfectly UVed)

Bombs, Split damage swords (with viable charges), and staple LD armors are the most common recipients of UV tickets since even a bad UV on them still helps more than a bad UV on a pure damage weapon, armors on the other hand almost always get a good boost.

your value vs. someone else's

Whether such boxes contain good stuff or not is not actually important. If they do, then you can sell them for a lot of money. If they don't, then you can sell them for only a little amount of money. In either case, what's important is whether you value the contents more highly than other players do. We can't answer this for you, because we don't know you.

You have given us one useful piece of information: You're not into gambling. Some other players definitely are. So, all else being equal, they value the box more than you do, so you should sell it. But the big question remains: Is "all else equal"? Good luck.
