Fiends are hard enough as it is, Fire fiends are worse, trying to bomb one of the hardest common enemies in the game while having the formerly captive knights knocking devilites out of your bomb range is just...... I have words but I can't say them....

Honestly, I'd rather have a full team of Fallen sets spamming Acheron charges than these Bozos, at least they would deal some damage and could actually listen when I say don't "knock stuff out of my bomb range".

It is horribly annoying to see a devilite about to take a blast only to have "the stupid knight" knock it just out of range (but still a close enough range than you don't have time to react to the pitchforks they fling at you).......WHY ARE WE SAVING THESE IDIOTS?!?!

Lol i thought i was the only one who hated those NPC's because i bomb fiends too, but unlike you i find it easy to bomb them with a DBB unless those useless knights come and send them away with their swords. Anyway, have you tried using a Voltaic Tempest before starting the DBB chain? It helps a bit.

Done that before but I didn't want to be stuck with just bombs..

I have a VT and it is very good but I brought a Mega Magnus along instead (since magnus guns are great for locking down devilites with flinch), however it is just about as infuriating to have a flinch chain broke because NPCs don't stop knocking them around...

Not really.

Honestly, I run hybrid (thus no extra bomb CTR), and the dark briar barrage is the best bomb to fight both fiends and beasts with. The voltaic temptest is okay as a support bomb, but shouldn't be used as an offensive bomb.

What I find silly about the NPC knights is that auto target will lock onto them, making any rocket hammer user be flung around.

If you use the delay on scintilatting sun shards, you can actually deal decent damage to devilites quite easily just by strafing about and spamming. The unfortunately rescued knights are still a problem, but less of one when you're hardly aiming the bomb. If you are aiming shard bombs, you're doing it wrong as you will be punished via losing damage to invincitinks. For this, sun shards is probably the best bomb. That being said, voltaic tempest + DBB works fairly well and can take care of more enemies on the whole.

@ Fangel

VT can be used as an offensive bomb, you just need masses of enemies and a vortex bomb to pull them together (shock spread damage chain), 1v1 though it isn't very offensive....

I wish SK took AT off allied characters, it's really annoying to have a brandish charge totally miss an enemy just because an NPC (who couldn't reach the damage a brandish produces if you gave them an HOUR) makes your AT screw up.... WHY SK? Why would you make this? (better yet just let me kill the NPCs so I can use their corpses as shields from bullets, that would actually be useful)

Fire devilites are my least favorite enemy in the game, regardless what set you pick you can't have good bomb CTR and type damage resists without having to buy trinkets. You can run Volcanic demo and only take 4 seconds of fire (while taking high damage from every fiend attack), Go for Divine Veil set and be completely lacking normal defense (and still taking fairly bad damage in the upper T2 as well as being blasted by Trojans), or run Valkyrie and die from the fire not shadow damage.

Oh wait there's still the heavenly iron set.... seriously how often do you see this?

Meep.

Only Dark Briar Barrage with CTR Max! and Range Very High will help kill devilites.

Don't be obsessed with sets. Combine Divine Veil helm with Valkyrie Mail armor.

- keeps the DB
- saves some Normal resistance for you
- kills the Fire vulnerability

Attune your sprite accordingly if you want further protection or CTR.

Sometimes I use quills on the fiends and then just sit back and watch those brainless NPC-s get a few kills. :D

I see the NPC knights as a good way to practice comboing my attacks with allies. If you have difficulties with NPC knights' knockback, you probably miss your attacks with regular knights, but they deal enough damage that you don't care (also it doesn't happen as often because most players don't blitz).

I personally enjoy their company, and I think it makes shard bombing fiends easier. I use them as decoys, then circle around while shardspamming, then disengage.

Yea, don't bomb them. Just grab a piercing weapon. I usually shoot them with my needler.

@ Fe-Tarkus I usually turn AT on to deal with devilites just because it makes hitting them with magnus shots easier and it makes getting flourish combos more reliable. AT also locks on to NPC knights causing my gunfire and swords to go in the wrong direction, I don't have this problem when playing with other people, also other people also deal FAR more damage than NPC knights (which you mentioned so yes I agree it bothers me less with people). The only time I mind other players is when they screw up my attacks (I don't need you to kill the enemy I have 8 catalyzer tags on, I don't need you to kill the turret I have a pepperbox charge pointed at, I don't need you to knock enemies away from my haze bombs), it either leaves me open to attack from enemies they should have focused on or negates effort I put into setting up a good plan.
