Okay guys, I've been playing SK since it all began and I never knew about this!

I was totally amazeballed by this and it has since been dubbed flash charge, originally discussed in 2013 but never made it big! Well here I am to rock your socks.

What is flash charge (FC)?
Dubbed by Wolfe-Knight, Flash charge is essentially another charge atk that is thrown instantaneously with your original charge attack. Effectively doubling the damage.

How does it work?
It takes advantage of a bug that happens when your ASI changes with buffs. If your ASI changes DURING your attack animation (eg. when it decreases w/ an ASI buff running out) you will effectively get a FC.

。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。

Enshadu's video will be our study: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcjcj42HlCA

Example 1 @ 00:31 - Flash charge as buff starts (ASI inc). This was a fairly lucky shot, his Frenzied Firestorm, just happened to buff him while he was letting his clip off. If you watch this example closely you can see vana's HP dropping twice, and it stays dropped, hence showing you that this is indeed TRUE damage.

Example 2 @ 00:37 - Flash charge as buff ends (ASI dec). Here Enshadu notices his buff and takes advantage of it by doing another FC just as his buff wears off.

Example 3 @ 01:32 - Flash charge as buff ends (ASI dec). Here you can see Enshadu having planned his FC attack.

。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。

Are you amazeballed or what people? ヾ(*Φ∀Φ)ノ

Amazeball note #1: I prefer it with Maskeraith (Deadly Shadow Cloak) but can really benefit everyone if used with Drakon (Frenzied Firestorm) + chance of getting a lucky FC as seen in example 1. A genuinely amazing advantage over Seraphynx as they are not able to set up for FCs!

Amazeball note #2: Works with normal attacks as well but charges work best as they have longer animation times. More difficult with weapon charges like valiance or alchemers where you have a very short window of opportunity.

Amazeball note #3: Do not shield cancel when doing FCs, it seems to cancel it out.

I am indeed amazeballed by this discovery. I would also like to state that the Warmaster rocket hammer's second (dash) attack has a damage value greater than it's first and third attack.

Yep, flash charging is an

Yep, flash charging is an absurdly useful glitch mechanic. With a maskeraith's deadly shadow cloak damage buffed flash charge, you can 1-shot a vana mask phase provided you have damage UVs. If an enemy is killed by the second charge attack's damage, they skip their death animation, allowing you to save a few seconds in vana speedruns by finishing off vana/trojans with flash charges.

A second option due to the way that flash charges happen is skipping weapon animations by choosing to only use the second charge (begin releasing the charge when the asi buff is ending rather than timing your first charge to end while the asi buff is ending), which can be very useful on a few weapons lines (all of the alchemer ricochets that would usually take a few seconds to play out will instead happen instantly!)

dahall, the dash attack singularly doesnt do much, but if you can "carry" the enemy with you it does like 4 hits, is that what you mean?

I dunno about not making it big, I see a lot of players doing it nowadays.
You can also do it if you get stunned, lol.

Seeing pubbies react to the Vortex/Deadly Cloak/Suda charge combo just erasing an entire wave of slags in FSC never gets old IMO.

The "Flash Charge glitch" isn't "Flash charge," but Double Attack glitch. It works with everything and doesn't need to be charge - It can double damage of normal attack, double damage of charge, or double effect of charge (like 2 bullets of Polaris charge).
1400 dmg from acheron charge? Here ya go.

Battle Sprites are horribly glitched, bugged and broken - example is Seraphynx's aura, which takes friendly fire. That's horrible.
I made whole list of BS bugs, but nobody's going to fix it anyway.

@Mtax

OP already stated that the flash charge needn't be a charge attack and it works with all weapons that deal damage, and that it doubles the damage dealt.

/---------Why would I not call you the first thing that came into my mind when I read your name?

@Dahall

I'm not blind.
My post was mostly about the name of glitch - Calling it "Flash Charge" doesn't make much sense, while it affects every attack. Charge is only part of it and normal attacks are also effective with this glitch.

@Flowchart - While I'm sure

@Flowchart - While I'm sure plenty of players know about this, I don't think it's general knowledge. Certainly it is not as well known as shield cancelling and switch shooting. I feel this is something that those who know about it will nod quietly and not actively share with "noobs". However for something as useful as it is, I feel everyone should know and understand how it works hence why I made this post. I also understand almost everyone in this thread is saying "Oh, I already knew about this a long time ago" (really, adding nothing but a pat to their ego), I'm sure more people will fumble into this thread without having known about this and actually gaining something from it.

@Mtax-Forum - There's little point in arguing over technicalities (if anything it looks petty) but yes you're right. Personally I think it's a grand name as most people albeit not yourself I take it, would use this only with charge attacks.

I noticed this a year back when using Suda charges while coming out of Stun, but I never realised that it could be so easily replicated with sprites.

Flash charge? Feels kind of unnecessary to rename Shield Charge to something else.
