Hello internet stranger!

I've played Spiral Knights on my Macbook Pro for a few years now, and have only very recently run into this strange problem. Its never happened to me before, and only started to happen after I updated the client after a few months. When I open Spiral Knights, it gives me a message saying:

"We are unable to to connect to our servers to download the game data."

Fair enough, I uninstall and reinstall the game. I open it up to see if its working, and... Same message. I read the rest of the message, and this is where I start to get confused.

"If WINDOWS Firewall or Norton Internet Security was instructed to block javaw.exe we cannot download the game. You will need to allow javaw.eve to access the internet."

First red flag, Windows? Either I am blind or I've been using Bootcamp this entire time. Second flag, I double checked my Firewall settings under Security and Privacy, and sure enough, Spiral Knights was allowed to run through it. I am not using a proxy either, so I'm all the more confused. I updated my computer, updated Java, and it still didn't work. Attempted to run the game through the browser, but it said something about "failing to create getdown" or something.

I am running OSX 10.9.5 with Intel HD Graphics 3000.
I've logged countless hours in Spiral Knights, and would hate to have to stop playing due to a mysterious tech issue.
If anyone could assist me, I would greatly appreciate it.
