So, I've maanged to download Spiral Knights with Windows version of Steam, and got SPiral knights up and running, but an issue that I repeatedly have is that, when any button gets pushed on the keyboard, the game crashes.

I did once manage the game without this happening, but I can't remember exactly how.
I tried searching for other posts about this issue and couldn't find it.
I've looked through technical issue support posts and didn't see my specific problem.

I do not want to be linked to a general post about Linux issues unless you know that it lists my specific problem.

Disable the steam overlay. It doesn't even work on windows that well for this game anymore. When I play on wine with the overlay, it crashes when any menu is opened.

I'm not able to see anything

I'm not able to see anything in the Windows steam, that I installed and run with Wine.
I do not think it's possible for myself to disable it.
I only managed downloading and running SK because I guessed where the store button was, and the STore is the only thing that works.
I can run SK form there.

Edit-- I am not able to run Spiral Knights from the Linux version of steam since it simply doesn't sllow people to run non-linux supported games.
From what I know there isn't a way I've seen to bypass this.
Regardless, I don't think the overlay has to do with having any keyboard button crash my game.

So, the reason I'm not in windows is because the first time my brother attempted to install Linux on this computer, he really messed up the Windows Partition, and he was unable to use it at all, but all the personal files were still saved.
He had to get a cracked version, which obviously isn't a good idea... It worked for a few months but eventually asked me for a product key and disabled my internet and other such things.
Our family went down the drain and we are poor, we do not have the money to waste to get another product key unless we save up, but I'd rather not go along asking for it.
