got invited to depth 16 jk run, and my shield wouldn't regenerate. you guys have probably heard about this and know what im talking about so i wont bother with going into detail... one thing i dont get is... why does it happen? how can i avoid this?

My broken shield not regenerating is to prevent soloing from alternate accounts?
It happened to me too, once (luckily at the end of the level, so it didn't bothered me too much) but I don't even HAVE a different account O.o
And I was solo from the beginning.

The only time I can get this
The only time I can get this to happen to me (never happened to me in-game) is to go to the Training Hall and stand in the fire in the lower right section. That breaks my shield and it won't regen till I switch to another shield and back again (or leave the Training Hall). Obviously neither is a solution for anyone in a dungeon, but that's my experience with it.
Fallout, not sure this is an anti-farming tactic by OOO since I've never heard of it happening till you said it, and I am familiar with this "farming" of which you speak.

i only know this, as i was farming a particular level (an arena) with a friend who had an alt we were joining. each time we joined the alt account our shields were broken, however if we tried a normal run it would not be broken. basically i only assumed shield problems were cus of that.
and basically farming is where a player gets to an arena (low in the tier) invites an alt account and continuously replays the level for crowns. works pretty well with the go solo feature.
i think this happens if the player joins an alternate account (purposely put there to farm arenas and such) then goes solo to farm that level. its OOO attempt to stop abusing the go solo on alt accounts thing.
