Welcome to Knights of Finland’s Snowball Lockdown game! Here you can get familiar with all the rules and what is required for you to be able to play with your friends.
It has always been a fact that there are casual players who enjoy playing lockdown but sometimes struggle due to not being as good as all the pro players, so we wanted to create something similar that people could enjoy where our equipments don't affect the results!
How the arena looks:
[Left Blue Team Side]
[Middle Neutral Side]
[Right Orange Side]
[Respawn Area & Judge Tunnels]
~Rules~
-In a nutshell, this is lockdown type of game using snowballs only.
-Two teams (Blue vs. Orange) play against each other. The game starts always with the players at their own sides of the arena.
-Judges will stand in the 3 entrances between 2 plants and their messages are seen in the zone chat. Judges don’t run around the arena.
-3 snowball buckets are placed to green beacons by 3 judges. When buckets disappear, game is over.
-You are not allowed to use your own flawed snowballs from your arsenal! If you do, you will be disqualified!
~What if you get hit?~
-If you get hit (snowman effect), you must immediately go to the respawn area behind the judges. If a player in respawn area tries to take part of the game, he will be disqualified.
-Respawns happen every 30 seconds and there is a timekeeper who announces the respawns every time to zone. When respawn happens, you have to get to the arena immediately! If you take too long (longer than 5 seconds), you have to stay and wait for the next respawn. This makes it easier for judges to keep track of respawn actions.
-If you hit your own team member with the snowball (friendly fire), it does not affect and he does not have to go the the respawn area.
-You may enter to the arena from any of the 3 entrances so choose wisely! You may stay in the respawn area longer if you need to afk for example.
-If you are alive, you are not allowed to run through respawn area! You may only go there if you get hit!
~How can your team win?~
-If your team manages to wipe the other team entirely before the next respawn wave, your team gets a point! (if you wipe final person but "respawn" text comes before "score" text, it does not count!)
-When score happens, everyone (from respawn area as well) must go immediately to their own sides and the game is started again. The judges will announce when the game continues.
-When the whole game ends, the team with the most points wins!
~How do I know who is in my team?~
-Team names are colors for a reason. If you belong to blue team, you must wear something blue or at least very close to that (frosty for example). Same goes to orange team (hallow for example). Personal colors do not matter!
-If you wear something else than your team’s color or change your costume in the middle of the game, you’ll be disqualified. Judges will check the outfits before the game starts.
-The game is supposed to be fast-paced and that’s why recognizing your teammates fast is needed. If you happen to have no fitting costume, mention it and we’ll see what we can do about it.
~Keep it fast, simple and easy!~
-Before the game actually starts, there is a lot of process to go through with checking the costumes and how many people will play and checking if everybody know the rules, so the faster everyone cooperates with the judges, the faster the game will start.
- Zone chat is only for timekeeper and for the judges! Don't use zone chat unless we tell you to!
-If you get hit but didn't see who hit you, go to respawn area anyway because if it was not friendly fire, people who saw it will accuse you of cheating and it will just make more mess to game.
-Again, this is supposed to be fast-paced game so multitasking with other things is not preferred.
-If you get disconnected, it is just unfortunate and game will just keep going. You may join back to the game when you get back online if the game is still going!
-The more you go by the rules, easier and faster the game is. Cheating gets you disqualified quickly so read rules properly before you participate to the game.
-Spectators may watch the game from the respawn area but may not enter to the arena at any point!

If you happen to have ideas or suggestions for improving the game, let us know! If timekeeper + judges are online and able to host games at certain time, it will be notified to zone/trade chats so in that situation you don't need any kind of advance scheduling and you can just PM me that you wish to join to the game! If you want to rent the arena in advance for you and your friends, comment on this post or contact me personally so we can discuss when you would like to play!
