I made another anniversary-type post back there having to do with Mecha Knights, and that ties in to this just a bit.

Dread Velvet is an evil Red Velvet cupcake about half the size of a regular Knight. It possesses the same attack capability as a Creep Cake, but with the addition of being able to occasionally inflict Curse. Its primary method of attack is possession of other entities to serve as armor. It also has a ton of HP.

Interesting concept, but in order to be actually intimidating as a miniboss, there needs to be a bit...more to it.
Here's what I've got.

Size increase.
This can be done in two ways, or possibly more:

1) Increase the size automatically.
This can be done using the "batter flow" mechanic that covers the room between waves. The miniboss "soaks up" the cake batter on the floor and uses it to grow to a frightening mass, just a bit bigger than a giant Creep Cake.

2) Increase the size through absorption of minions.
Much like the Royal Jelly, this mechanic would serve to both heal the miniboss and increase its size permanently, capping at the limit mentioned above.

Cosmetic alteration.
In order to be the ultimate incarnation of all evil cake creatures, you have to look the part. I've got a plethora of ideas that can possibly be mixed/matched.

-Add four Giant Lichen colony spikes to the boss in a pattern similar to T3 Jelly Cubes
-Add eye-flames for both of the boss' eyes
-Place four Dread Seals around its base, akin to the Sealed Sword's charge attack, that rotate around the boss
-Give the boss a protrusion of Dark Matter crystals on its head
-Add a line effect to the body, similar to Swarm Seed or Node Slime trails.
-Add a dread/curse aura
-Alter the model to include a mouth full of teeth made out of cupcake wrapping, or dark matter shards
-Change the candle flame to violet
-Add a violet underglow emanating from the "hidden" part of the body (underneath the wrapper portion)

Final-form attack alteration
A tanky Creep Cake that deals Curse is decent, but lacks variation. These additions might help:

-Fire streams similar to Vanaduke and Red Rovers
-Ice streams à la Maulos
(These two reflect the "kitchen" environments of the mission)
-If a mouth is added, a bite attack similar to the Snarbolax would add to the fight
-Trojan-style charges
-Tantrum attack similar to the Royal Jelly

Host body alteration
Mind you, this is based on the body the boss takes after releasing Groat the gremlin chef but before turning into its cupcake form. I mean the magenta Batterbot.

Instead of the Batterbot, replace it with a Mecha Knight.
This includes several things.

1) Recolor the Mecha Knight to fit the Dread-Batterbot color scheme
2) Equip the Mecha Knight with either a Faust or an oversized dessert fork (as per my prior idea) with "rune" accentuation
3) Give the Mecha Knight two extra attacks, including the Retrode laser and the Trojan slam.
4) Give all attacks from this entity the ability to deal Curse.
5) Resize the Knight, making it slightly less tall than the Collector.

Final alteration: Environmental change

In order to fight a giant laser throwing boss that comes at you with a fork, the following changes should be made to the arena after the last Groat stage:

-Cover the entire floor with a thin layer of sprinkled magenta frosting (cosmetic)
-Retract the "mixers" in the room's center and replace them with a panel that can be walked over
-Periodically introduce four giant "candle" hazards in the outer parts of the arena that function the same as the Creep Cake attacks. Fuse time is the same as floor spikes.
-Skybox change to a theme similar to Margrel's fight (without pages)
