So I recently got a gremlin disguise mask costume, and I absolutely love it! It fits perfectly with my armor set, and I was so happy to get one... then I discovered it only lasts for 30 days. I know there's a gremlin helm, I have the glacial version, but the Gremlin disguise just looks so much better... so, Gray Havens, please can you make it permanent!? Please!? From the wiki, it seems to be rare anyway, so why make it limited time only? I really want to keep it forever, and i'm sure others agree! PLEASE?
MAKE GREMLIN DISGUISE PERMANENT PLS!!!
If there was a renewable way to get disguises (trojan, love puppy, gremlin, and mecha knight alike), then I would be more... well, how do I put it...
Disguises are limited in supply. I think making them less limited would act as a proper crown sink. However, I think the permanent variants (warden masks, gremlin masks, and mecha helms) are fine with their current renditions.
So I don't think they should be made permanent, but rather, perhaps give them to a vendor to sell for crowns? Something like them costing 75k to 100k crowns per disguise, with a 10k crown sale happening for one random disguise once every week.
I'm not saying make the disguise itself permanent, but (similar to halloween masks) make a means to make it permanent? Maybe via Roarmulus SL?
Also, you said making it permanent would be a kick in the teeth, but also completely shut down that argument by stating that they can re release prize boxes.
Saying the Gremlin helms are inferior is a matter of opinion, as these are purely cosmetic items with no game play benefit. I personally like the Gremlin disguise simply because it suits a costume torso that I have. It doesn't work with any of my other armors.
Finally, having a means of getting disguise items for crowns would tank rarity. Again, making a crafting means of making them permanent, but bound, like the halloween masks would make more sense... heck, they could even make a little event related to ember light around it.
Wouldn't you be kind of pissy if you had bought an item, used it up, and then needed to buy another one anyways to get something that you were supposed to already have, promo re-release or not?
Plus if they were permanent, the price for the disguises despite getting one every box would probably raise to become more valuable, which would probably (depending on when you got it) make you need to pay more than you had to pay for the first one.
Despite what I said above, as for making it permanent through upgrading means, it sounds kind of fun. However, I'm not sure if it should be from an SL... Though, I'm not really sure of a place either, aside from an event as you had mentioned, so SL is fine as a placeholder.
I feel an event also sounds like it would be kind of fun, but we'd also need an event for all of the other disguises, not just the Gremlin one. Same goes for needing to make the other disguises permanent somehow.

See, that's the deal. The gremlin masks are the permanent disguises. The gun puppy masks are the permanent puppy disguise. Warden helmet is the permanent trojan disguise, and mecha helm is the permanent mecha disguise.
In fact, the only disguise that's become permanent has been the love puppy disguise. However, due to the nature of love puppies (valentines day), we can easily say there was no alternative to them at the time of introduction.
I believe the disguises could act as a crown sink. 50k crowns per disguise at vatel would work. They last 30 days, like slot upgrades, so it's not a new system.
EDIT: spelling
I agree with this, about the Vatel thing. 50k sounds pretty reasonable of an amount.
As for the Warden/Gremlin/Gun Puppy masks, I was kind of trying to emphasize on that, but I focused my wording in the wrong way.
The knight takes off the gremlin disguise.... and low and behold... they have become a gremlin D: DEAR GOD NO IT WAS MADE PERMANENT
I think that, at least to an extent, the rarity/value issue for it could be if, when they were recieved, they came bound. Thus they would be untradable from the start, and wouldn't flood the market.
Over all, this isn't a big deal. Again, it's all cosmetics with no real game play impact. And it's something of a niche thing at that, as you don't see many people using the gremlin helms in general. It was just a thought on my end for a little more diversity in an already diverse world ^w^ still thoroughly enjoy the game, and still hoping for another OCH size expansion some day.
Maybe make them like that NPC who sells Monster Pockets, that’d be a great idea and add “Forever” before their name like the Forever Love Puppy Disguise.
Big issue with that is that:
A) It's actually not as rare as it used to be. A Disguise promo came out which guaranteed any disguise with each box, to which the Gremmy ones were apart of, lowering its value. When the promo came out, those disguises dropped down to 50k per.
B) If you make the disguise permanent now, it's basically going to be a kick to the face to any other people who had the disguise and had it eventually burn out. I don't think they'll be able to individually pass out the missing helms to everyone. Else, they probably would've done that with Wicked Whiskers.
C) As you said, another gremlin-related head exists. If you made the costume permanent, it would likely steer towards sharply making the other gremlin head piece worthless, as it's clearly inferior in design (maybe not much for color I guess but still). This'll especially apply as Gray Havens had said that they can re-release older Prize Boxes. Next time the Disguise Promo comes out, those more mechanical Gremlin headpieces are going to run obsolete.
