The year is something.
The world is full of wannabes using Swords and Spells in a quest to gain experience point and gold coins.
Because that's fun.
Additionally, there are also flintlocks. Because lots of RPGs have guns in them too.
However, comma, the world hates you, so you're forced to use d20 rolls!
So here we are now! Get a band of adventurers along with NPCs to slay some monsters and bring some booty home!
Fill out this 'character sheet' to start your adventure! And then wait for more imbeciles to fill out those character sheets while you're at it.
Name - Matik if you're reading this don't be a robot please.
Gender - Everyone is a crappy human because we love redundancy.
Class - Choose a class from the list below.
Appearance - Character details. Makes you recognizable.
Age - Honestly, I don't care. Make it between 16-48.
Attribute? - Ask for a free Attribute and buy a second one to try your luck in the genetic lottery!
List of Unlocked Classes
Adventurer - A fashionable person. Balanced class.
Marksman - Probably a cowardly bowman. Has high agility.
Wizard - Wears a dress and a pointy hat. Has high magic.
Pirate - Who wouldn't want to be a pirate? Generic melee fighter.
Knight - Easily referred to as a tin man. Generic melee tank.
Assassin - Thinks toothpicks are good weapons. Fragile, but has high critical.
Healer - Has to constantly deal with his party's whining. Plays support.
Stalker - Doesn't have much fashion choices, unfortunately. Has a fast start in combat.
Bard - Complete Chapter 1 to unlock this class.
Gunner - Complete Chapter 1 to unlock this class.
Shifter - Complete the A Revenge Plot to Remember sidequest to unlock this class.
After the character sheet is finished, you are given generic equipment and some gold, which you will use to buy cool things before embarking on an adventure.
(Rules are subject to change when my brother decides he doesn't like them.)
Version 1.00001 - Brief class descriptions and Cover Art added.
Version 1.000Banana2 - Class 'Art' has been added.
Version 1.000Ded44 - Redundant Rules and Player Sheets have been added for convenience.

The whole random attribute reminds me of some other forum game with randomness.
I kinda want to be both a pirate and a healer now.
EDIT: Does the unlockable classes mean we can change classes midgame?

Yeah you can change classes. At certain points in the game.
Players who join in can use unlocked classes, too. Filthy freeloaders *cough cough*
A Pirate/Healer would probably be classified as a Chef. But you can't be a chef.

ERROR, WE MUST TO BAIL OUT TO PLAN B!
Alright, let's shake it up.
Name: Tinder
Gender: Female
Class: Healer
Appearance: Long ginger hair, skin normal, wears a white medical coat and...basically a female version of TF2 Medic, only with ginger hair.
Age: 21
I pulled out one of my characters from my RP universe to make it in.

Why does everyone want to be a healer of some sort?
Sure, you can have a team of all healers, I guess. Battles are gonna be real redundant.

Okay, Teddy and Tinder are healers now.
Each of you can choose to get a random Attribute, which does something interesting. Any of you want an attribute?
And Crazee-Pi, pick your class already. I don't care if we have 3 healers just pick please.

Name - Markelu, The Knight Of The Poor Name Choosers (you can just call me Markelu)
Gender - male, ofc
Class - Knight (no healer lol)
Appearance - Has strong-looking armor, which is made from cloth. Has some weird blue glowing eyes.
Age - 21
Here i go...

Well, I was planning on being a healer if either no one else joined or someone joined and became another healer, and if I wasn't going to be a healer I was going to be a Knight, but Markelu's already a knight, so I guess I'll be something else...
Name - Turnips
Gender - Crappy human (female)
Class - Assassin
Appearance - Some person in a cloak. Wears a purple scarf that for some reason always blows in the wind even if there isn't actually any wind.
Age - 22
I'll take my random attribute now.

Pick three of the Abilities/Passives for the class you have chosen. Choose whatever you think will be the most fun or useful for your team!
Limited Abilities can only be used once per combat unless it says otherwise.
[HEALER] Teddy, Tinder
Reinvigorate - Restore an Ally's health with a magical touch based on your Magic.
Divine Breeze - A refreshing breeze heals all Allies for 1 health.
Lay on Hands - Restore all the health of a wounded or Unconscious Ally with a profound spell. Limited.
Bubble Shield - Cover an Ally in a magical barrier giving them 1 Shield.
Judgment - Call down a bolt of pure light damaging a Foe with Magic power.
Divine Strength - All Allies are imbued with celestial power, gaining +2 Attack for one round. Limited.
[KNIGHT] Markelu
Withstand - Take all attacks for Allies this round.
Chivalry - Get in the way of an incoming attack taking half the damage from it.
Rampart - Bash an enemy with your shield with a 50% chance of stunning them.
Vigorous March - All Allies cannot take more than 2 Damage this round. Limited.
Shout of Fortitude - Cures an Ally of any affliction that reduces AP, and gives them 1 extra Attack for the next round.
Offensive Stance - Let down your shield and prepare to strike. You take 50% more damage, but all attacks against you will be automatically countered this round.
[ASSASSIN] Turnips
Fast Reflexes - Passive. Foes must roll higher than a 6 to be able to hit you with attacks.
Plague Grenade - Lob poison at up to 4 Foes preventing them from being healed this round. Limited.
Vanish - Disappear from sight this round. Your next attack will deal double damage. This automatically activates when Critically Hit.
Trespass - Strike a Target from the rear ignoring any Shield or defensive boosts they have.
Vital Strike - Brutally stab a Target for double damage potentially killing them. The damage stacks with Vanish.
Flash Powder - Blinding powder nearsights up to 4 Foes making them twice as likely to miss this round. Limited.
Oh, and Crazee-Pi - this is your random Attribute:
Insane - You are demented and twisted to your core. Critical Failures will cause you to play against the party next round.
You aren't necessarily crazy on the outside, but some people will notice that something is, well, off about you. You probably have the craziest ideas out of anyone in the group, though.
Anyone else want an attribute or two? The first one's free and the second one is 25 Doubloons.

My name is Crazee-Pi and my character's first trait is that she's crazy.
Ok.
I'll go with Fast Reflexes, Vanish, Vital Strike (unless anyone wants me to go for Trespass or someone joins as an offensive class), and a second attribute just for fun.

Crazee, your second Attribute is
Deformed: You are hideous to look at. You cannot wear Armor, but you have an additional weapon slot. +1 Vitality
Leper? Hunchback? Or just the plain kind of ugly? Imagine wearing the ugliest suit of armor ever, just for any benefits it might have.
Here is the shop! You can buy stuff with your hard earned Doubloons.

I pick Reinvigorate, Divine Breeze and Judgment.
And give Tinder an attribute.

I don't care looking at other's abilities/passives and instead i choose the strongest ones i can find.
Chivalry, Rampart, Shout of Fortitude.
Only 1 attribute, thank you.
EDIT: Please change the font of the shop. It's very hard to read.

Buy a switchblade and sell my armor.
Are grindstones permanent?

Tinder's attribute is
Devout: You are a true believer of redundancy. You may ignore one Critical Hit you take or one Critical Failure you make per chapter.
Nice. Very nice.
Markelu, I've changed the font. Here's your attribute:
Alpha: You are a natural leader and have lots of self-confidence. Allies may give you unused AP and vice versa.
If you've always wanted to be the leader of the group, you'll love this attribute!
Nice, strong attributes. If you're feeling lucky it's 25 Doubloons for a second one.
A weightstone is a permanent effect on your weapon once used up. It does not change the weapon's selling price. And of course, you can only improve an item once.

Alright guys, Ze-Epik seems to be taking his sweet time lollygagging or something, so decide whether you want to buy anything from the shop, and we'll start the first chapter!

I'll buy the Windblade because good items are always good, no matter how much they cost.
I have nothing else to buy, so i vote for starting. 1/4 votes.

You sure you want the Windblade? You already have a sword and shield equipped...
If you equip the Windblade over the Iron Sword, you'll lose 1 Attack.
P.S. You can't dual wield unless you have a dual-wield ability or are a Gunner.

Cancell the purchase. Attack is all that matters.
Buy the Steel Sword instead. +1 attack
Still voting for chapter start though.
1/4 votes for starting Chapter 1.

A healer girl that can absorb a crit or avoid terminal roll consequences is a good pick-o.
And now, here's a smart yet redundant pick.
Leather Cloak - 125 dub (SHORTENING FTW)
Blue Stave - 75 dub
Equip dem all!
Oh, and vote for chapter start.

Okay, since Crazee-Pi bought his stuff and posted in another thread some hours ago, I think he is ready for the chapter start.
Welcome, brave adventurers, to the Redundancy. A massive Continent teeming with endless possibilities, like Doubloons, EXP, and Treasures. As a ragtag group of wannabes, you're on a quest for gold and fame! Right now, you just heard of a large brigand pack terrorizing cities and towns around the county, so you're out to stop them for a handsome reward.
Featuring the legendary heroes who have low tier equipment but infinite rations, meet Tinder, Markelu, Turnips, and... Hey, where's the fourth guy? .....Eh, I guess we'll roll with three.
The team is in Villageville, a town surrounded by low level enemies on the outskirts, and the higher level enemies are up near the capital for some reason.
But nobody cares about that, you're on a mission! The team is now on the road outside of Villageville, chatting away.
Say something useful.

Tinder walks with Markelu and Turnips down the road.
"It's a beautiful day isn't it? There are a lot of people to hunt down today! Like that one!"
She points at a random wannabe.

Tinder points at a person who is walking out of the woods, who is clearly wearing one of those bird masks plague doctors wear. She sees you pointing at her, but she doesn't really care and starts walking off like she saw nothing interesting.
Speaking of which, you guys see a broken-down carrage down the road. You could basically walk up to it right now if you wanted, before one of you uh, starts getting a little stabby.

Tinder walks up to the carriage and inspects it for loots and stuff.

Is "Dodongo dislikes smoke" useful enough?
Walk towards the carrage.

Tinder walks over to the carrage and finds nothing at first, but her gut feeling tells hier that anything can have loot if you know where to look.
Naturally, Tinder knows where to look. She looks under the ruined seat, says "Yep. That's a secret compartment right there," and pops it open to reveal a bag full of 100 Doubloons and two Treasures you can't quite identify right now. It's not because I can't access my treasure document right now or anything. Nope.
There wasn't supposed to be anything good inside, so you got really lucky already.
At this point everyone's caught up to Tinder and they've heard about the top find, but suddenly Turnips notices that there's a bear sleeping in front of the carrage. It's real big.
If any of you think you might know anything about bears, mention it and I'll do a quick knowledge roll to see what you really know.

Turnips attempts to remember if she knows anything about bears.

Before you could think of anything bear-related, Tinder shows you what the ol' treasure satchel had:
Redundant Crest - All Stats are increased by 1.
Dungeoneering Codex - Read through this massive codex to find all the information you need about a Target. Limited.
Very good treasure roll. You got lucky here, once again.
Tinder may distribute the 100 Doubloons and Treasures in any way she likes, or she can just keep everything.
Tinder passes the codex to Turnips, who flips it over to the "Bear" entry and tells the group that bears are durable and highly dangerous, especially against a lone target.
For reference, the Bear has 36 health and uses a potentially powerful mauling attack, along with the ability to boost its defenses for a round.
The bear is starting to wake up. Figure out who gets what and get ready to fight, because combat has pretty much started.

I suppose I'll be in next chapter because I didn't check up on the thread often enough, so here's a different character.
Name: Tudor
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Class: Wizard
Appearance: Think Red Mage from FF1 but with bright purple hair.
I'll wait until the next chapter.

Tinder takes the doubloons, while she passes the chest on Markelu, then she gets behind her cohorts to heal.

Okay Teddy I'm gonna need you to choose from this really long list of spells; pick three and only three.
[WIZARD]
Fireball - Toss a fireball at an enemy, dealing fire damage equal to your Magic.
Chain Lightning - Launch a lightning bolt that can bounce between Targets losing 1 damage each time until it depletes.
Arcane Missiles - Launch an amount of missiles equal to half your roll. Each one does 1 damage and the attack can hit multiple Targets.
Lifedrain - Drain the life force from a Foe dealing 4 Damage and healing you for half that amount.
Frost Blast - Send a blast of ice at a Target damaging them with Magic and stunning them.
Blizzard - A freezing mist covers up to 4 Foes damaging them for 1 Health a round. This requires mana each round to work. Limited.
Siphon - Steal 1 Magic from a Target and grant it to yourself for the rest of combat. Limited.
Conjure Fortune - Use your innate essence to transmute Mana into 100 Doubloons and a random Treasure. Limited.
Arcane Sleight - Grant an Ally inhuman speed. They gain 30 AP this round. Limited.
Wormhole - A deadly wormhole sucks in everyone on the battlefield in dealing 6 Damage. Allies can attempt to avoid this spell. You must yell "WORMHOLE!" when casting or else it will fizzle. Limited.
Also choose whether you want an attribute or not say Yes or No to this part.
And then spend your Doubloons, or 'Dubs' as Matik puts it. Check out the Redundant Shop.
After you figure that out I'll integrate your wizard into the story.

i equip the thing tinder gave me i guess?
then i go front and ask both healers to assist me in some way.

I choose Fireball (basic spell), Chain Lightning (multi-targer) and Siphon (powerup).
Also, I'm assuming they have different status effects (e.g. burning, paralysis etc).
Also I don't care about attributes. No.
I buy and equip the Magic Staff and the Wizard Hat (total +3 magic, 5 dubs left).
Just introduce me at the start of the next chapter or whatever (I see group at a town or whatever and offer my skills.)
Also my character's called Tudor.

Alright, Tudor will probably show up midway in the chapter in good old Villageville with his cool spells and 55 Doubloons.
As for the other three, there is a dangerous bear standing in front of them. Markelu, who was the last to catch up, forgets in his haste that there is only one healer in the team, though he is aware that she has at least one offensive spell ready.
Markelu took a quick glance at the codex before the encounter, and he realizes that bears are pretty resistant to stunning. You could still do it, but your chances aren't great.
It's top of the round. The three of you will need to tell me what actions you're going to perform in battle and I'll go ahead and roll some dice.
Make sure to keep track of your stats and stuff with these convenient player pages.
Also rules if you need any reminders of what can happen throughout the chapters.

Turnips tells everyone not to attack the bear.
She then looks through the Dungeoneering Codex again to see if it says what bears like before looking around to see if any of those things are nearby.

You take the Codex and try to read from it, but completely and utterly fail, partly because you can only use the Codex once per combat, but also because you Critically Failed. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, your turn doesn't end right then and there.
Turnips throws the book on the ground, screams that she's going to save the bear, and runs at her comrades, daggers ready.
Alright, Crazee, your insanity has caused you to go antiparty and you have two actions to work with. Give 'em hell.

((Could I use my turn to vanish so I don't have to attack my party?))

((Absolutely not. The point of antiparty is to deal damage to your team, and if I allowed this antiparty would be pointless when you could just vanish each time to avoid having to do anything.
All you really have to do is deal damage, so I suppose you could avoid using abilities and just regular attack whoever you think can deal with the damage. Remember that Matik can heal the damage and Markelu can use Chivalry.))
All three of you need to act this round, so lay out the plan and we'll see if you can survive this battle.

"I'm sorry Turnips, but your behavior lost my respect. And we just started!"
Judgement!
Tinder prepares a good, magical punishment for Turnips.

I attack the bear with the steel sword since Matik is focusing on Turnips.
Also, you said something weird.
though he is aware that she has at least one offensive spell ready.

Turnips isn't Antiparty forever, but I'm sure that Tinder just wants to attack Turnips for her entertainment. Or something.
And Markelu, the sentence was right.
though he is aware that she has at least one offensive spell ready.
though Markelu is aware that Tinder has at least one offensive spell ready.

Sorry, I meant to say that you know that Tinder, the group healer, has a decent way of being able to deal damage to the bear.
So Tinder sees Turnips turning on the group, and she's having none of that. She goes to drop a Judgement on Turnips, but the heavens reject you this round and you hit yourself right in the face for 4 damage.
Sorry, but I literally did just get a second 1 in a row, which means the rest of your AP goes as well.
Markelu takes his sword and swings it at the bear, hitting it for 3 damage.
So we're going to go with that antiparty actions can be done during any part of the round, so you've got plenty of time to think about how you're going to deal the most (or the least) damage to the party. You gotta do some damage with your actions though.
Also, if you feel like the battle is going south, there's no shame in running back to town. You just get no EXP or Loot.
The bear is going to try and maul Markelu, and it's a powerful one. It's going to do 8... I mean 0 damage.
We're still waiting for good old Turnips to figure out how she's going to end the round.

You might have noticed the three posts in a row. Just read the second one for first round results and read this one for your current status.
This just shows you what you're missing. If it says nothing about Health, you have full health and etc.
Markelu has used up his immunity and has no Shield to protect him right now.
Tinder has 8/11 Health and 18/20 Mana.
Turnips has 3/14 Manas and no AP remaining.
The Bear has 21 Health left, which you know because of your fancy new Codex.
Remember you gain 2 Mana per round and that Markelu can transfer AP after he does something.

Turnips yells something about riding the bear before she knocks Markelu over and begins stabbing him repeatedly.
She doesn't notice Tinder attempting to use Judgement on her due to it failing, which, if it succeeded, would most likely have caused Turnips to attack her instead.
((Attack Markelu twice. If Tinder uses Devout, attack her instead.))

Use Devout just to get the attack on a teammate? Probably not.
Okay. You go to stab Markelu a little clumsily, and you manage to get through his 1 Shield.
Your next stab doesn't do as well, and you just miss completely since Markelu is ready to avoid it.
It's at this point that Turnips' mind clears, and she realizes what she's been doing. She also realizes that the bear is absolutely hostile now that Markelu's decided to hit it with his sword.
Top of the round. Markelu's shield and passive won't protect him this time, and Tinder is at 6 Health.
What's the plan, guys?

Turnips gives up on her dream of riding the bear before using Vanish.
((If Markelu uses Alpha to give me 2 more AP, then use Vital Strike afterwards. If not, give the rest of my AP to Markelu.))

Your assassin instincts are on point this time, and you just disappear into thin air.
Your critical vanish allows you to just get right behind the bear with no effort at all, and you didn't even need the extra AP.
The rest of the group basically sees Turnips disappear, reappear behind the bear, and then stab it for a super painful 12 damage. This all happens within like 2 seconds. Very good, Crazee.
Devout can only be activated once per chapter, which means you probably might want to consider it for other battles, and you definitely don't want to use it on something like attacking your teammate. It can be quite powerful if used in a potentially deadly situation.
Tinder casts Reinvigorate and heals herself back up to full health. She has 12 AP remaining, which she can use to Judgment the bear or give to Markelu.
I'll put the results of Matik and Markelu's actions on this post right here.
The status of the party and the bear will be on #43.

IS it too late to use Devout? If not, then I use it.
"Urgh..."
If Devout not used: Reinvigorate (Self)!
If used: Judgement (Bear)!

I'm serious, I have literally no clue what to do next.
i guess i give turnips 2 AP so she can do vital strike.
Name: Teddy (again)
Gender: Male
Class: Healer
Appearence: Completely average, except for shocking green hair. Because magic.
Age: Uh 16
