I like making games for others to play. Except that they're all text based and I keep most of the games in a book.
So, I'd like to hear your opinions on ideas that I have, if I was an actual game developer.
Negative QTEs
It's not as quick as an actual QTE but it'll work. The time limit on a standard QTE is 2 seconds.
However, the time limit for a Negative QTE is about 10 to 30 seconds.
How is works is that if you input the command for the Negative QTE, there will be a consequence. Most commonly, dying.
Example one. You hold up someone with a gun, however a buddy of his snuck up behind you and aims his gun at your head. You are then prompted to (A) Fire to execute the person that you are holding up. Unfortunately his buddy will shoot you for that, instantly killing your character.
By the way if you're thinking about Renegade Interrupts from Mass Effect that's different because you don't consider it negative if you're being a Renegade.
Example two. You are doing something and you are suddenly prompted to (X) Die. If you press the button, you drop dead where you are standing with no explanation.
Please tell me your opinion on this.
