Launching issues (Either Mac and/or Steam issue)

I've noticed a few others have had this problem and I so just recently had this issue as well. The game was launching from steam perfectly fine from steam. As of today at around 8:00 PM PST, the game seem to open up in my dock and on steam, but then suddenly crashed and closed. It certainly has nothing to do with the Nvidia issue as I am running an Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB.

This is what I have done so far:
- Restart my computer
- Re-install SK
- Turned off the Firewall for my computer
- Downloaded the launcher from the website (It worked but I can't login using steam)
- Launch directly from the website itself (Tries to open steam only)

If anyone in the forums or even a Gray Havens member knows of what is happening, I would love to know the issue, when it can be fixed, or if it can be fixed currently.

Thank you

I'm having the same issue, but since January 18th. They have updated it but I guess it only worked for some Mac users who play Spiral Knights through Steam. It might be an issue with Java because sometimes people can't play because of their version if Java. Just a question toast, do you have the newest Mac Book with Retina Display? I looked in the update history of SK and it said something about making Retina Display Mac Books better or I might be wrong.

Please fix it Grey Havens I love the game and always will, I just want to be able to love Spiral Knights and play it too!

Yeh

@Proctra I actually have a little older version of the MacBook Pro, in terms of Retina Display, I am unsure of it.

Gah, my poor knights. I was so close to 5*

I started having the problem around the same time as Proctra. I have my own forum post about it right below this one. I have a MacBook Pro from 2014. Maybe apple is just crapping out DX.

Use earlier version of JRE

As a temporary fix try downloading and installing an older jre version. Such as JRE 7: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1...

Here's how to edit java_vm: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/62691
