Lockdown alternative style

We need a new game mode on LockDown. In HardMode Style, but this time without Final Flourish (and similar), Grand Faust (and similar if you have it) and Polares (and similar).

And before they say that LockDown looks great, then why do the vast majority of Spiral Knight players dislike LockDown?

It's rare a see a random LD

It's rare a see a random LD match going , I don't think adding another mode is a good idea these days. But for that mode, I think removing AT is better than banning those swords.

But I want Polaris should be banned imo, not only its area-denial and shock is OP and annoying, but it also causes major lags. Most players that uses this are either newbies or trolls, just one player using polaris will mostly result on other players retaliating by also using polaris. This is one of the top reason why LD matches dies, and you have to wait for decades to start another LD match.

Mist bombs are also a cancer, especially with invisible bugs... and those weapons that shocks ppls. (Its instantkills mostly if you get shocked). I think cutting the duration of the shock would be better.

I'm thinking of a mode that rotates every week where one weapon type is banned. If swords are banned you can only use guns and bombs, if guns are banned you can only use swords and bombs, if bombs are banned, you can only use swords and guns. It shouldn't overlap with hardcore or hazardous weekend modes and should be a separate mode that applies for example 2 days a week.

I think it should last 2 days a week where one weapon is chosen to be kept and the other 2 banned on separate days for example if we choose guns then on the first day swords will be banned so you'll be able to use guns and bombs and on the second day bombs will be banned so you'll be able to use swords and guns.

I think this would be a great idea cause it'll keep spamming kinda not as effective if everybody is using guns for example it's harder to target them if you're using Polaris and there are gonna be less OP swords for a short time so you can enjoy some peaceful games, this would also encourage diversity as you'll likely bomb if you're limited to only using 2 weapon types where each one is included during 2/3 of the time. You can't just stay a gun/sword hybrid forever ya know.

A tip for countering shock is moving hectic and trying to kill your opponent ASAP, they'll likely just wait for shock to attack you when you're getting a spasm so hitting them is the best idea. If you run away, you'll just get sniped. I currently don't have much problems with shock since I use Crown of the Fallen and Black Kat Raiment with a max shock UV on both, but I sometimes use a shock trinket if I'm up against a haze-spammer that uses Voltaic Tempest so I get immunity to it, if I'm guardian I can get immunity to shock from shock guns with the trinket on or just haze without it. So I suggest that you invest in other sets that give status resists like Mercurial or Mercurial Demo, just make sure you're always wearing a set in which its two parts have the exact same type of defenses to or else you'll have no practical defenses. For example I always use Fallen and Black Kat sets so I always have normal/shadow defenses but if I used Mercurial with Black Kat I'll only have normal defense as the piercing and shadow stats are too low to surpass the 100 defense points to each element LD already gives you.

Hope I helped.

I don't want a specific

I don't want a specific weapon type to be banned... (except for bombs). If GH implements that, lots of players wouldn't play LD. (even if its just 2 days)

About the tip based from my experience on one of the messy LD match yesterday, (As a recon gunslinger)I think my reaction would depend on the target' threat/number of enemies.

On Voltaic tempest, its really hard to get them in my alchemer's range. And usually the ppls camping with the bomber would either rush towards me but mostly gun me back with a blaster/polaris/antigua(which outranges my alchemer). Usually I will hide in the blind-spot and shoot a charge attack which has a longer range, but it requires luck to hit and not all cap points have an available blind-spot are where you can snipe with a charge attack.

Polaris shots would either get spammed to deny an area where I would either take some risk on evading those to get in
or land those shoots between a smoked fights where its barely unavoidable.
Storm Driver could be a problem, but it doesn't deny an area like a polaris can but its OP on someone who can spam shots with switching.

I have a mercurial demo but I will lose alot of dps power which is also my main defense. I'll also lose CTR, I only have a limited time on approaching and sniping ppls camping on cap point... Doing this is risky tbh but rewarding if you successfully land a shot without getting spotted or getting combo'd to death.
For the trinkets, I think its not worth to trade one of my trinket (HP + True Shot). Maybe if I got a full BK set, I might trade my HG dps trink for that.

Problem about FF is only that

Problem about FF is only that first attack... That attack is for normal damage weapons '-'

Why have one horizontal attack in one piercing sword anyway? Charge attack I can understand, but horizontal attack without charge is strange.

lol this thread

Y'all are literally just saying "I don't like this weapon because it kills me, so it should be banned". No weapon in lockdown should be banned, however alternative gamemodes that remove "buffs" (UVs, trinket slots, auto-target) individually or compounded would be excellent alternative modes, just like hazardous mode.

You can also get some added buff modes, that double player health, double player defenses, remove the buff cap, or grant everyone +6 MSI that would be really interesting and fun. Heck, a simple change that allows players to use their battle sprites in their entirety has potential to turn the entire game on its head, but why the heck not, let's see what happens.
