Now that Grey Havens has delivered on the 5-star Winmillion, I just want to remind you all that Fang of Vog is still in need of a buff.

I acknowledge there are other 5-star swords more worthy of attention. For example, Acheron should be faster and shoot projectiles to balance it with the recently released Turbillion. However, given the fact that FoV is a boss weapon and it has been in the game for a long time, I think it's only fair to make it a rational option for PvE and PvP use alike.

Damage and speed buffs are notoriously hard to balance with so many weapons in the game. That's why I propose we keep the FoV at its diminished base power and slow speed, but add other unique traits to give it a viable niche. Here, I list four possible options.

Suggestion 1: Ring of Fire
On top of the 360-spin attack, the FoV charge will also send out a ring of flames which expands outwards to about 3 tiles in every direction. There, it will hover for 1 full second before fading. Contact with the ring does a small amount of damage and causes strong fire. However, the ring does not cause knockback or block projectiles, and it is possible for an enemy pass through it.

Suggestion 2: Hot Spot
Currently, the charge attack briefly renders the ground underneath the user red-hot. Make that a more tangible effect that deals damage to enemies. Each charge creates a red-hot tile which fades after 10 seconds. The hot tile behaves like a crystal from Tortofist charge but has the added ability of inducing fire on contact.

Suggestion 3: Running on Flames
Make charge attack have 100% chance of setting user on fire. However, user gains Movement Speed Increase High until the fire dissipates.

Suggestion 4: Chain Chomping
Remove the third combo swing and allow the first two swings to be chained indefinitely without needing to "reset" the combo.

Metayya
Honestly

1 sounds like a knockoff Ash of Agni. Boring, and stepping on another weapon's niche.

2 sounds pretty good. Would require enemies to be lead into it rather than provide massive area damage like suggestion 1. Might also give the weapon a more destructive feel.

3 sounds more like a nerf. With how potent statuses are in Tier 3, you'd be doing way too much damage to yourself.

4 sounds like fun at first, would be nice to be able to just go to town on enemies. But the final hit of sword combos is what makes swords capable of staggering enemies. No finisher means no flinch, which probably hurts the FoV defensively. To refine the idea a little more, perhaps change the FoV's combo to loop seamlessly, so that the finisher leads into another combo without significant delay. It appears to be and feels like an infinite combo, but the flinching finisher still happens every third swing.
