Just days ago, as you may or may not know yet, SEGA has given the announcement of a new product called the Game Gear Micro, among what they've discussed.
To those who have not heard, the Game Gear is a handheld console made to compete with the Game Boy, moreover because that handheld only had greyscale colors. The Game Gear is the first handheld to display real colors to stand against Game Boy. The handheld's size is very tiny compared to the original, but they have an accessory for those who may have trouble trying to see the tiny screen, and can be preordered.
My guess, that's taken from the success of Sega's Genesis Mini. Nice that they're following up on that.
The Game Gear Micro comes in 4 model colors, but each model has different games, key colors of which hold about one Sonic game. It's our favorite blue hedgehog I'm talking about. His adventures are always the best, even the early ones.
Now, I know it may not be very thrilling or exciting, but this sorta new product sure does prove that Sega hasn't even forgotten their handhelds.
This also gives other people something to have besides their mobile devices. Mobile devices & games can't truly outdo handhelds in every way possible. The Nintendo 3DS still is a great handheld with a lotta great games, and the Switch's handheld off-shoot, not, I repeat, NOT a true successor to the 3DS, the Switch Lite, is a fine selling product to Nintendo's markets.
No matter what, real true dedicated handhelds have been, and always will be, in the minds of people, and in history. Keep remembering that.
