Just go on a ton of jelly and roarmulus runs lol those give good boss drops and stuff too

Generally, it is quicker to farm crowns, buy energy, and purchase orbs from the supply depot than to farm orbs directly.
Any mission that starts you in the second half of tier 2 (where the orbs drop) is a good idea. If there are arenas in the arcade, those might also be a good choice.
Yes, farming elite orbs is easier than everyone thinks, although it takes time and patience.
There are very good missions that you can speed run for elite orbs like:
