I know there are tutorials for this, but how easy and complicated is it to get weapon switching if you're using the mouse wheel to switch back and fourth?
Does it take months or years to master weapon switching the same or different weapons?

it's easy to do, gets tiring for a long run though, especially since brandishes and other charge weapons are so easy to use. Unless you're using it for LD.
some people use the keyboard for weapon switching.
I use scroll wheel and it's not that complicated to get down. It takes like a few hours to get really comfortable with it, and ASI makes it easier. Different weapons require different switch patterns, but again, play around with it for a bit and you'll get the hang of it.
