I'm making a Knight Elite that will only be a Knight Elite (Update)

Hello people. I wanted to present to you all an idea that I have had for a little while now. It revolves around grinding, grinding, and maybe a little insanity, and I am hoping some good fun.

Some of us have seen, been, or have knights that have 5* gear and/or high prestige, but are Knight Elites or below. The 2 things that inspired this whole idea was the guy from Arsenal Podcast (I believe, can’t recall the name), who kept his Knight at Knight Elite, as well as Skepticravern crafting every gunner armor in game. Anyways, getting to the point, there was a video where AP achieved 45k Prestige on his knight, and it got me thinking. How about I take what happened there, and copy it in modern-day SK?

Here’s my idea: I want to make a knight that is locked to Knight Elite and cannot go any farther than that. He can only get up to 4* weapons, and can go no farther than T2. I have always loved the low-level content in this game, and have had many characters where I play the T3 endgame, but now I want T2 to be my endgame. And, to make it even more interesting, I have established some high goals for the account.

1) Do 100 of the 3 T1-T2 bosses, being Snarby, JK, and IMF.
2) Build up to a consistent cr stack of 1mil. (Actually, depending on how much I spend, just the runs of the bosses will take the account to around
820kcr in raw cr, not counting if I use the boss tokens for even more money)
3) Craft every single craftable weapon in the game up to 4*.
4) And the big boy: eventually get 45k prestige on the account. (Should take anywhere from 1-2 years depending on how consistently I do it)
5) From the inevitable hundreds of Arcade runs I will do, build up a nice supply of 3*-4* rare recipes to sell off. (One of the main ways I will
complete goal #2)

There are the basics of the account. I do have some questions for you guys though, both gearing wise and tier lock wise. (Only a few, but I will probs put more as I start the account and begin to progress it)

1) What to you guys think of the shining fire crystals grind? Without doing In Cold Blood for it, the grind is actually looking to be worse than
Radiant grinding, as they only drop from boss boxes and occasionally from the end levels of T2 Arcade. It does not really matter, because the
account will obviously be quite powerful for the content I will be playing with 4* gear, but I wanted to get some opinions on this.
3) What to you think of LD? Should it be something I participate in to get the weapons and trinkets from? Or should I stay away from it as a 5*
activity? I’m terrible at LD, and would very likely get destroyed, but in the case of getting the recipes and completing the goal of every craftable
weapon, it seems like a logical thing to do.
4) Punch is an option if I want to go for things like immunities to statuses and ctr/asi on weapons, but we all know just how painful punch can be,
so I want to know if you think I should to some rolling on Punch for good stats, or only get UV’s from crafting, to keep that charm of getting a
good uv unexpectedly instead of wasting 100s of thousands of crowns for the upgrades.

There is my idea in a nutshell. Having played endgame content in SK for years, on many knights, this is something entirely from the ordinary. I don’t think I have ever heard of a concept like this before. I may have seen Defender Elite people who have the Knight prestige and only 4* gear, but I believe that the idea I have presented here is quite original. The account should be up and running in a few days, and, by my estimations, complete the first heavy grind (100 Snarby) within 1-3 months. I’ll use this thread as a kinda update page to let you guys know how I’m doing, and we will see how this goes!

Cheers

1. Wyvern Scale set does have the same resistances just less of them
https://wiki.spiralknights.com/Wyvern_Scale_Helm
uvs/trinkets might still help you pass the immunity threshold for moderate status though.
2. Might not be too bad since T2 missions are shorter (should be easier to get to the end of RJP/IMF than FSC for example) You could just "cheat" at this and have your main or other people invite you to T3 runs.
3. Servers are worse so maybe not, too bad T1/T2 LD don't happen regularly any more. You could try BN although I don't know how often it comes up.
4. Crafting sounds like the better way to go, if you are grinding prestige on a low level account then arms appropriation is easier to do and you can get some crafts in that way.

agree

I think that Flowchart's advice is good, as usual. But I'm a little more pessimistic on point #2. I haven't seen many Shinings in the missions around RJP and IMF, other than in those two missions. So you might be grinding just those two missions again and again. You'll have to decide whether Flowchart's proposed "cheat" is cheating or not.

It's an interesting idea. Keep us posted. :)

The shining grind is the

The shining grind is the thing that most concerns me at the moment. From my estimations, it is anywhere from 1-4 drops of shinings per run, which means that I should have anywhere from 600-1.5k by the time that I finish the JK and IMF grinds. That is ok, but realistically I want to have a few pieces of gear at lvl 10 like the 4 star dragon scale set and things like the Silent Nightblade. I want to maintain the “purity” of the account, but the idea of using my main might be a logical thing to do. For now though, I won’t worry about it too much, and make the decision once I get there.
Oh, and just so you all know, the Knight is booting up today :)

Knight is up and running!

Having some good fun right now. I have always enjoyed the beginning of the game and it always feels good to go back and experience it. Anyways I wanted to give a little update as to how I want to progress the account for now.

-I plan to go the cobalt route for now, as I have no need to worry about Vana or particularly difficult bosses right now. Cobalt is pretty powerful by itself until it reaches T3, which I won't, and it is cheap to make, which will save me a little money for the future gear to make. The only other weapon that I will be making at 3* will be the Nightblade so that I can do JK with relative comfort.

-I will be doing OCH, just not the T3 version of it.

-As Snarby is quite an easy boss I will very likely go ahead and complete the 100 Snarby runs as soon as I get there, as Cobalt gear is quite strong there and it will massively progress the account in a short period of time. Assuming that each run takes 10-15min, it should be around 17-25 hours to complete this first grind. The loot will be around 230kcr, probably around 25 simple orbs (assuming an average droprate of 1 in 4 runs of Snarby), and of course the 300 tokens.

-Likely once I get to Haven I will immediately do 2-3 runs of T1 Arcade to get myself around 12-15kcr and craft some of the unique 0-2* gear from Basil.

I would also like to thank you Bopp and Flowchart for your input. I would like this thread to be a nice little discussion thread on low-level techniques and grinding, and hopefully a helpful place for newer player to see how to break out of the grinds of T2.

See you soon!

Grind #1 Complete!

Went ahead and did 2 T1 Arcade runs as soon as I could, and got the first 100 energy of the Account! (Way harder than I thought it would be) Made myself a wep or two, and now it is time to pump out the missions until Snarby, in which the first real grind will begin. I've been thinking about what I am going to do with the tokens I get from the bosses, and for now my plan is to not use any of them until I get the 100 kc milestone. For Snarby I will likely just keep the as there is no real money maker in them besides buying the weps, unbinding them, and selling them, or selling the Snarbostuffing (A good idea but we will see). I'll probably be posting regularly on this thread with various updates to the Account's progression as I think people would like to see where it goes.

A new question that I have for yall revolves around my sprite. I have decided to get the Maskeraith as my pet, as the abilities fit quite well with my playstyle. What I have been debating, though, is whether or not I should max out the sprite. Generally speaking I feel like that would break the rules of the account a bit, as the Sprite would be a 5* item, so I would like to know what you think about this. The ultimates of the Maskeraith are quite useful, but on the other hand I won't really need them that much.

See you in a little bit!

you decide, but

You get to decide the rules about your sprite. But here's what the spirit of your project suggests to me. You should not be able to max out your sprite. I don't know where the ceiling should be.

It's also strange to me that you're planning to have trinkets and OCH. That seems like a luxury version of what's supposed to be a basic knight. But again you set your rules.

Thanks for the input Bopp. I

Thanks for the input Bopp. I was thinking the same about the spirte, and for now am planning to either stop at level 50 or at the sprite's 4* levels. As for trinkets and OCH, I can see where you are coming from, but generally speaking it will be much longer down the road that I will get these items. Trinkets for me will mainly be status-resistant trinkets to use for missions like C42 to actually achieve he immunities needed, and just the grind of getting the token to buy up them at 50 apiece will help to balance out at "luxury" portion of it. As for the damage-boosting trinkets and heart pendants from LD, this entirely depends on whether or not I even play LD in the first play as for the most part LD is a T3 activity and I am locked to T2 anyways. (Unless I am lucky enough to get a 4* or below health trinket from a love puppy) OCH is interesting, because now that you mention it, the two weapons are not craftable at all, so that kinda defeats the purpose of it. But, I can do the missions to craft the Flawed Mask of Seerus, which would perhaps balance that portion out.

Also mini update deal. I got through the basic missions, and now I have Snarby ready to go. I should be seeing you all around 3-5 days once I get that grind done, and post a detailed loot post with crowns, tokens, orbs, and the like.

20 killcount into Snarby. We will see, but this loot summary is looking to be a good one.

100 Snarby KC COMPLETE!

I am one happy man. 100 Snarbolax kills have been completed, and the loot is impressive coming from Snarby. To make this simple, I will split the loot breakdown into three parts: Gear used; Actual loot itself; and some general statistics based on the 100 kc. (For those who do not know, kc simply stands for killcount)

Proof Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxIPb0kZ-VE&feature=youtu.be

--Gear Used--

I decided to go ahead and just use the Cobalt Set for this, only switching out the Defender with the Bristling Buckler so that I could have a small damage boost. I also restricted myself to not being able to progress the account in terms of gearing, (Crafting new gear) and progressing past 4-2 HoH until the kc was completed. Additionally, I bought no weapon/trinket slots for the duration of the grind, as generally speaking it makes no sense to do so until later on.

--Loot Breakdown--

-229,596 crowns

-12 Advanced Orbs

-21 Simple Orbs (Starting at 7)

-Over 600 Dim Fire Crystals (Taking into account heating my entire set to 10, it is more like 800ish)

-1 Silver Lockbox from Prize Wheel

-Over 150 Primal Sparks

-7 Sparks of Life

- As well as hundreds of minerals and materials such as Monster Bones and Critter Carapaces.

--Some Statistics--

With the 100 Kc I think I can rack up some statistics on things like token chances, orbs chances, and the like.

-The average cr per trip was 2295.96.

-The Advanced Orb droprate was 1/8.33 runs.

-The Simple orb droprate was 1/4.76 runs.

-The chance of getting a x4 Fang drop was 1/11.11 runs.

-The average Primal Sparks per run was 1.5.

-The droprate of Sparks of Life was 1/14.29.

-The average crowns/hour was 9,184 cr. (At 25 hours for completion)

Well, this was pretty chill and quick considering it was 100 of a SK Boss. I estimate it took me around 25 hours to complete the whole thing, so not terrible in terms of a timesink. Now that this grind has been finished, I will be moving forward on the account now to JK, and we will see where it goes. Just so you all know I will be spending this money a bit, as I do need to begin crafting a serious loadout for the future, as well as getting moving on the crafting grind.

Thank you to those who have been following along! It is only the beginning, but I am hoping to make a legitimate forum thread about this account, and keep the community involved with this crazy thing I am doing!

I will be following up this post in the next 24 hours with a post discussing JK, what my plans are for that grind, and the account's progression plan for now.

Big Cheers :)

State of Kegr (Part 1)

Alright, here is what I am currently thinking about doing in terms of Knight progression. The 100 JK runs that I have sorted out for myself are a little daunting, as the slimes are a bit more difficult to consistently deal with than the T1 Wolvers of Snarby. But, since having completed the 100 Snarby runs, I have unlocked a ton of new opportunities for the account. When I was doing the runs, I restricted myself to only being able to do Snarby itself. No Prestige except for the material turn-ins, no Arcade, and no purchasing of anything except Shadow Motes. Now that I have completed this grind, I have removed those restrictions, and the account is much more free to do many different things instead of a single grind.

Here is what I am thinking of doing right now. Since JK is quite difficult with 3* gear, I will be moving past JK and getting myself a strong 4* Power Setup so that I can complete the grind without too much stress and in a reasonable amount of time. Right now I am thinking of Ash Tail Set, Silent Nightblade, and maybe 1 or 2 other pieces of gear. I will definitely get myself the Cobalt Set first as that is one of my easy endgame goals. As I will be doing to JK grind, I have restricted the account from IMF, meaning I cannot do any runs of that boss until I complete the 100 JK Kc. I am still considering whether or not to go ahead and unlock a weapon slot for more ease, but we will see later on.

This will be taking much longer than the Snarby grind, as 1) I will be doing a lot of Arcade in the background, 2) I will be doing Prestige much more consistently, and 3) I am taking off for College tomorrow, and I do not know how much I will be able to play once I start.

That's all for now. The Knight's name is Kegr. Feel free to shoot me a Friend Request if you want! I am considering doing JK every now and then with other people, so if you want to join me and have some fun go ahead and shoot me a msg or something!

Cheers.

About the sprite thing

Battle Sprites actually can't be upgraded unless you can equip the star level it would be once upgraded. This means that under these rules you cannot upgrade your sprite past level 74.

Stats for 100 snarbolax runs is interesting. I'd want to see 100 JK next out of curiosity.

Status Update (Sort-of) on Kegr

Hey guys!

Sorry that I have not been posting anything about progress on Kegr, like working on JK or anything like that, and that is simply because I am extremely busy with studies right now. I wish I could keep this thread more updated, but college is more important to me than SK, so as such SK has pretty much gone on the backburner for awhile. I can play a little more during the weekend, but I like to chill and play on my main during that time, so Kegr is pretty much in a stagnate position for now. I will try to start working on the 100 JK kc goal soon, but 1) The PK and Christmas events are going to be spent on my main, so that is time out of this knight, 2) I can right now maybe do 1-2 runs a day, if that, and 3) I would prefer to not burn out from long grinds so I will be spreading the time I spend on Kegr out to JK and Arcade runs, so that cuts down on the little time I have to play on him.
As of right now I estimate that it will take me likely into next year to finish the JK grind, and then once that happens I can get on my favorite boss in the game: RT!
Anyways there is that. As a side note I am thinking about making a new knight that focuses solely on merching and only merching, as I have never done it before and want to push my knowledge of the economy and item flipping to new levels, and it is something that I can do pretty easily, logging on a few times a day for a few minutes to check the AH. It will also be easy to chill and afk in Haven while posting in trade chat, so that will be pretty nice for me. We will see where that goes, but for now I am checking out for awhile. Got some major tests coming up and a bunch of studying to do, so wish me luck!

A little update after a long time of not playing...

Hi Guys!

Been awhile hasn't it? What progress have I made? Short answer: None.

But the good news is that it really does look like I will be able to get back into playing on Kegr once more starting after Winterfest! It will be nice to get back into this guy after so long. To update you guys on what has been happening, I have been busy studying, and with Finals coming up, that has been even more crazy. But after next week I am finally on break and can take a little bit of a break and get back into playing SK a little bit more regularly on this character. I have been playing a lot on my main in preparation for Winterfest, because I would like a good amount of the items from the event. But once this event is over, I will instead be focusing mainly on merching on my main, and will be able to dedicate some more time to Kegr and getting him fully up and running. It will probably be something along the lines of 1-2 JK runs a day, with occasional longer sessions every now and then.

A couple of quick things for me to note:
-Due to my current loadout being a little lackluster (Ash Tail, Silent NB, and the 3* blaster), I will need to use the money from JK to actually build an efficient loadout for JK. But, to keep the stats up, I will be making a Table where I will keep all of the fun info on each run (Cr earned, any orbs earned, fire crystals earned, and anything else I think is interesting), so that will be fun.
-I also will have my friends list open for anyone to send one to, and anyone can join me doing these JK runs! I will make most of my runs open to anyone. It would seem against the rules for peps who are Vanguards to join me and "carry" me, but there are over 100 JK runs, so doing them with people is something I would prefer.

Oh, and I have gotten a weapon or 2 from JK (I believe a Prismatech Alchemer MK II and a brandish), so do you guys think I will get a wep? I think it might actually be possible, but only time will tell.

Anyways, sorry to anyone who has been looking forward to updates (I kinda doubt it considering this is the forums, I probably should start posting this stuff in Arcade discord instead), but in about a month's time Kegr will finally be back!

-Kegr
