It was a long time since we got a plot update, so I decided to make my own story, a scenario of how the game could continue.
In short, the Swarm spreads across the Clockworks and Cradle infecting knights and their enemies. There is only one way to stop it - find the Swarm Queen and destroy it.

Now, the scenario itself.
1) Communication with Kora. The goal is to investigate the Swarm.
2) Investigation mission. Dive into the core-related locations.
3) Communication with Kora. Information about fiends(they are missing in the swarm-infected locations), information that Tier 3 is now open only for Vanguards+.
4) Rescue mission. Find and stop a knight infected by the Swarm.
5) Event mission. Find another gremlin outcast region. Confirm that fiends are involved.
6) Event mission. Find a fiend city. Trace the path of the Swarm.
7) Communication with Ozlo. Learn that the Swarm source may be related to Shadow Lairs.
8) Shadow Lair mission. Snarbolaxes.
9) Shadow Lair mission. Jelly Queen.
10) Shadow Lair mission. Roarmulus Twins.
11) Shadow Lair mission. Darkfire Vanaduke.
12) Communication with Ozlo. Information that although we could slow down the Swarm Spread, it is still growing. Tier 2 closed.
13) Rescue mission. Stop and if possible bring back a bunch of infected knights.
14) Investigation mission. Interact with 4 Dark Greavers.
15) Investigation mission. Check the Core, notice a big Greaver-like butterfly creature.
16) Communication with Kora. Information that the Swarm is spreading and it behaves like a hive mind. It is suspected that soon only the surface will be a safe place.
17) Investigation mission. Haven pollution. Show animation that other knights are infected (in real-time for the mission, but that doesn't really affect Knights). The air becomes polluted because of the incident in the Lab.
18) Event mission. Trace the Swarm path. Investigate the final Shadow Lair with the Swarm Queen (a big and dark Greaver-like butterfly). The player cannot beat the Queen, but the Sleeper teleports the knight to the Sanctuary. The Sleeper is revealed to be the white Greaver-like butterfly. Information that to beat the Swarm, first you need to obtain 4 items from different Cradle levels.
19) The clockworks stop moving, the air pollution increases. The Arcade levels in Tier 1 no longer change (but the gates are).
20) Event mission to obtain the special item 1, Tier 1 through Tier 2.
21) Event mission to obtain the special item 2, Tier 1 through Tier 2.
22) Event mission to obtain the special item 3, Tier 1 through Tier 2.
23) Event mission to obtain the special item 4, Tier 1 through Tier 2.
24) Communication with the Captain. Wish good luck and depart.
25) The final fight with the Swarm Queen and Herex. Proceed from Tier 1 through Tier 3 until depth 28. Only Swarm-infected creatures, including the Dark greavers. In the final fight, the Sleeper appears and revives the knight (and cures from the infection). The Swarm Queen is destroyed with the Sleeper's light. Herex captures the Sleeper and disappears.
26) Hall of Heroes. The knight is prized with something there. It is also said that though the Swarm is slowly disappearing, the main threat - Herex - is still there.
Feel free to post your ideas about that. Even if we cannot play that plot story, we can at least film it.
