Salutations, fellow knights!
It has been almost 10 years since Spiral Knights was released to the general public and enjoyed by many players, old and new. As a way to celebrate, I’ll be hosting a creative contest for those that want to express their love for the game through not just 1, not just 2, and not even just 3; 4 selections to chose from! 1 step up from my previous art contest back 3 years ago.
The selected categories go as the following:
_____________________________
My First Loadout I Fell in Love With (Visual Arts)
Can you recall the time you’ve made your first gear set that you’ve either stuck around with for a long while due to loving it visually, being able to handle a few lumber slams with a full Elemental set and an Iceburst Brandish or finally being able to outspeed some foes with a Justifier Hat and Vog Cub Coat to tackle back with an Argent Peacemaker and Barbarous Thorn Blade? Display that set in its full glory!
- From the selections of Gear and Weapons, replicate that one set you’ve held close to your heart either through nostalgic or visually pleasing means.
- - It can be done either through general paper/canvas and art utensils (Paint, pencil, ink pens, etc.) or through a digital art program (Sai, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, etc.).
- - You can even throw in a scenario where the armor piece saved your hide or placed well into the theme of a depth/room within Cradle if you wish to.
- - Must be a Loadout that isn’t a costume or accessorized. Full-on Proto sets are allowed.

On a Scale of 1-5, How Stylish do You Feel? (Fashion)
Have you ever only adored a set you own that had a limited amount of accessories instead of filling in every single slot possible? Show and flex it off here!
- With a costume that has an accessory count ranging between 1 and 5, you can show off that you don’t need to fully deck out every slot to look fashionable through your entry.
- - You don't need to have exact screenshots of your character from the link, but anything similar is great.
- - Accessories must be bound to your costume in preview. Previewing with different colors that you don't own is allowed.
- - Any costume set with 6+ accessories or none at all will be overlooked during the judging period since the max limit is 5 and the minimum is 1.

Under The Moonlit Aurora Isles, Chromalisk Scales Shine Brighter (Writing)
Did you ever just lost yourself in a certain region or sub town with Crandle and just want to express to others, through words alone, how enraptured you are into the setting or genuinely feel at home where you reside the most? Influence others into exploring those territories more through poems and songwriting alone!
- Write either a poem or song that you can express to others either through thoughts alone or even a slight melody of what these levels bring forth out of your head or what they visually look like.
- - You can throw in images of the level or even with an MP4 read-along, but it's not completely necessary.
- - Writing prompts can be typed out into the post instead of a text document on a hosting site like Imgur.
- - Poems and songs don't have to exclusively rhyme and be lengthy to inform.

I Shall Stand Until the End of Time (3D Prompt)
Have you ever wanted to re-create your favorite/known set into a statue that stands high and proudly, outside of Guild Halls with a menacing pose, through your skills alone? Display such gloriousness here!
- Using 3D art programs (Blender, Z-Brush, Scluptris….), video games (Minecraft, Brickadia, Roblox…), and even through your bare hands (Papercraft, clay, metalworks…), re-create that set outside of Spiral Knights and into another realm of its own that fits just right.
- - You can make an additional background or paring monuments as well with the main piece.
- - Websites, such as ArtStation and Sketchfab will help with posting 3D artwork if you'd like to do a full view instead of screenshots.
- - The style doesn't have to be Spiral Knights' signature style and more-so into the world you're revolving around.

How and Where to Submit Entries?
Submissions for categories will be in this forum thread. When posting your entries, please state the category in which they go into (Costumes in {Fashion} for example) and links to said entries. Each entry must include:
- Your Knight's In-game name and the numbers "442021" as proof of ownership in either the artwork/screenshots/photos themselves or in the description of the post you're hosting the image/artwork on.
- Links to the entry you are submitting.
- A minimum of 3 photos/screenshots will be needed for the 3D Prompt entries to indicate depth outside of using 3D hosting sites.
Judging Period
Accuracy, charm, and effort will be the main focuses next to the quality of images and slight spell checking. This will take between 2-5 days after the deadline of the contest. Winners will be announced on April 24th, which is the following Saturday.
Prizes
- For participating in at least 1 challenge, the default prize will be 10k crowns as a thank you for contributing. Winners in each category will obtain 75k Crowns and a Chroma Whelp Monster Pocket!
BUT, if you do dare take the challenge and try to participate in all the categories listed...
The crowns will become 7.5x the amount of 1 prize!
- That's right! By putting in an entry in all 4, your default participation prize will turn from 40k to 75k + either a Rose or Boutonnerie for fun. And if you win overall best, here's what you'd win!
- - Chroma Whelp Monster Pocket
- - Mewkat Monster Pocket
- - Love Puppy Monster Pocket
- - Hoptimer Monster Pocket
- - Black Kat Cowl
- - 300k crowns
So in the end, there will at least be 5 main winners; Best in each category and 1 for participating in all 4. There MAY be honorable mentions and more prizes, depending on participation...
One more thing: You can edit your post any time before the deadline, but know that each time you edit it, the time and date of the post-change.
Deadline is April 18th, 2021 @ 11:59PM PST
Good luck and have fun! :)
The end date and time on the clock are ticking down!
There are now less than 48 hours left before the deadline to get your entries submitted, so any last-minute adjustments and/or a need of a reminder is here.
