It... is... completely... POINTLESS.
In my serious perspective, I find Nintendo's OLED screen Switch model completely pointless, unnecessary, unimportant, non-baked, non-intuitive, non-exciting, even just plain BORING! What kind of model would only have an OLED screen for a couple bucks more than the original and dozens more than the offshoot Lite model when people like us could've bought that kind of money for better products that costs less? My only prediction is that model will not be favorable.
I don't care about the increased on-board internal memory. Heck, I don't even care about that OLED model at all. It's just unwanted to a lotta people.
Nintendo's just wasting lots of money for a meager optional screen change that's not really needed at all. Very disappointing, even for them.
If Nintendo had a better strategy for their new consoles' plans, if anyone had a better mind in charge there, I'd really suggest they'd have better spent more time shaping up an actual, brand-new, TRUE handheld that should be the TRUE successor to the Nintendo 3DS(and if anyone asks otherwise, NO, the Switch Lite is NOT meant to be, and NEVER will be the 3DS' successor. Its is only an handheld OFFSHOOT. Nothing more. PERIOD. Nintendo stated that before and again.), with better, easier game development processes, stronger graphical capabilities that are greatly far more powerful than the 3DS', and even quite more than the Switch's capabilities, regardless of model(more than enough to even run Inti Creates' later games, including BMZ2 & 3, smoother than ever), the touchscreen actually being resized to match the wider screen ratio the top screen has, both of which should be a teeny bit wider, too, for better drawing room and better perspectives, more robust, louder sounding speakers for hearing audio better, amazing backwards compatibility towards past handheld games besides Game Boy and Color games, bigger game cart sizes beyond 8GB(which no 3DS game has presently has made reality thus far, by the way) and file sizes for digital games beyond 2GB(which is, and should still be, optional to those who still prefer to buy physical games, even though a couple games can be digital only), better sound quality, better screen resolutions, better, more longer battery life, improved camera quality to take better pictures(still optional), and loads of minor improvements to a lotta little features & programs, such as the Sound and Photo programs. Retaining the option to do 3D gaming can be kept, which I liked, but that should be greatly improved to accommodate better field of depth for better, farther distancing. OH! And let's not forget, being ABLE to store games BEYOND 300, no matter what platform they're made on. It'd be a very big help to those wanting to buy every game in that new handheld. Even more, have it being able to carry more DSiWare games beyond its rigid limit of less than dozen games, regardless of what size they vary, and have larger SD card amounts allowed. That'd really help out.
The point is, if Nintendo would've truly wowed us, they would've brought out another brand-new handheld actually worth buying. And no amount of mobile phone models, old and new, and/or mobile gaming methods, even newer games, will ever change the fact that real, pure, dedicated gaming handhelds will always have, and always WILL BE, every gamer's best travelling treasure to cherish for decades to come, even their children, who should be educated about that, too!
Would you buy it, should that be so? I would, and I'd be a very happy gamer to see real handhelds continuing to flourish, better than ever before. Handhelds over mobile every time.
That's what I have to say about that. End of story.
