There is a Cursed Shard Bomb... Deadly Shard Bomb .
That Bomb gets outclased by everything else. Why? well let's see.
Basic Attack
Bombs do not have basic attacks, only charge attacks. . - (ohh, waw, we started strong here! understandably Bombs do Damage in area)
Charge Attack
Detonation Time: ~5 seconds . - (ok, a convoluted way to say it explodes twice, first small then a "ring" of explosion)
Radius: ~3.5 tiles
Movement speed is decreased by medium while using the charged attack. Detonation produces a damaging core explosion with a small ~1.5 tiles radius that immediately explodes outward into a larger ring of 8 shards with radius ~3.5 tiles. The central explosion causes minor knockback, usually just enough to push enemies into the second ring. Each shard in the ring explodes ~3 seconds after the central explosion and deal slightly more damage than the central explosion. Enemies dealt enough damage will be knocked down by both primary and secondary explosions.

. -(this is atrocious, the Nitronome recipe is given free, Mission 8-2 "Becoming a Champion", and deals 206% ->132% ->32% more damage), to clarify: only the Initial blast hits, only the Exterior shards hits, both Initial and Exterior shards hits.
Usually I say that Normal Damage Weapons are Good, in this particular case... NO. Nitronome is the "starter" Bomb, has more resemblence to the Proto Bomb same mechanics, Same Familly, Faster Charge and faster detonation than shards! Overall a good Bomb. But... What if? We change the type To Elemental (I know Deadly Crystal Bomb exist.... wait...) and Go Status Shard Bomb... How is that? well, Deadly Splinter Bomb is Pure piercing damage, while Scintillating Sun Shards is piercing damage + Status.
Now what Do we add to this Atrocity of a Bomb?

- not very Original... Could Work though that would Increase the damage... You can keep it Normal at Base so it would be... NO...! Curse! WE GO CURSE!

- Is a Bomb is NOT supposed to be Healthy.

Would this Bomb be different from the other Status Shards... Not really except the: "Fair chance of causing moderate curse (bombs only have charge attacks)". Perhaps moderate is a bit harsh! But can be balance... although There is no compleat info on whats the difference between "Fair" or "Good" chance of what even is "Minor", "Moderate"or "Strong" status... SO the bomb Could be an Abomination or a Mildly Inconvenience... But for sure lets make the Blast Bombs the Normal Damage Bombs, and the Shards the Elemental/Piercing/Shadow ones? Maybe? for Class identity.
Althoug on the matter of Identity... Perhaps remove the Shard name since Curse Status is... well from elsewhere... Scintillating Sun Shards and Shocking Salt Bomb are quite fun names!
