This release contains a lot of important changes. Details are below:

Forge: We've made some changes to the forge system to make it more friendly to newer knights and lower the cost of leveling your gear.

  • All forging attempts, regardless of the crystal option you pick, will be successful! We believe this will be a more enjoyable experience for most players. When an item is ready to be leveled and you use the forge, your item is guaranteed to level up. You can always opt to add more crystals if you want to have a chance at some fun bonuses. So, if all you want is to level up your item, you'll now want to use the lowest crystal cost option. This option is selected by default.
  • To balance out the above change, the bonuses you can get for the different crystal cost levels have changed.
    • Minimum level of crystal use: You are now guaranteed to be successful! You will not have a chance at extra bonuses.
    • Medium level of crystal use: The chance of bonuses has been increased compared to what it was before this change.
    • Maximum level of crystal use: The chance of bonuses has been increased even more compared to what it was before this change.

System Upgrade: We've released a second batch of very large back-end changes. Like the previous changes, this is part of our continuing effort to modernize the game. This represents quite a lot of work behind the scenes, but should help the game run better for players. Thank you all for your patience while we've been tinkering under the hood.

  • Windows: works better if using system scaling
  • Mac: support for apple silicon, support for "green button" maximizing, higher resolutions in windowed mode.
  • The upgrades required some new controls and remapping of old controls. We've tried to migrate your control schemes as part of these changes, but in case there were mistakes, please check your settings. However, in particular gamepad mappings may be off. These are a work in progress. Your feedback is appreciated in the Technical Issues Forum. In most cases, these changes or additions wont automatically override anything for old knights.
    • Facing controls will override movement keys that are also bound to facing controls.
      • The default WASD setup has been updated.
      • The default gamepad control scheme is dual-stick and newly mapped.
    • Steam Deck is also a *work in progress*, but should be set up as "game pad + mouse". The official layout will be updated and your feedback is welcome.
    • More UIs are now navigable with a gamepad. Tell us if something's missing in the Technical Issues Forum.
    • ESC should now close a menu properly.
  • "Max" UI scaling option is new and on by default.

More changes:

  • Call "removing" an accessory "deleting" in a few more places.
  • You can no longer bypass the "Are you sure" dialog for deleting an accessory.
