Well hello!, i had this idea for a few days in my mind, so i gotta share it with everyone, and specially with the devs now that the game is on a comeback, so here is an idea for a future update (or not)

well, fishing on spiral knights? sounds crazy, but is it possible?
fishing could be introduced to the game as another way of earning crowns or other items, and to entertain people in other ways besides doing the king of ashes again and again.
(sorry if you don't like reading)

_Fishing rods_
fishing rods also works as swords; you can fish different types of fish based on the damage of your sword
each rod has a 1 to 5 stars upgrades, they required BAIT to being able to catch something in a pond/fishing spot
the bait they can use depends on the stars of the rod, 3 stars rods can only use bait from 3 stars and below, 5 stars rods can use any type of bait.
similar to sprite food.
the higher the rod power, the higher chances of fishing expensive fish or rare items (orbs, fire crystals, and other stuff)
[*] Elemental fishing rod, will be able to find enemies weak to elemental damage
[*] Shadow fishing rod, weak to shadow
[*] Piercing fishing rod and weak to piercing.

_Bait_
you use materials to craft Bait, on the "Sprite Food Alchemy Machine", you get more powerful bait depending on the stars of your material
200 to 600 crowns to craft the bait.
the bait power increases depending on the bait, fish appear more often, and the odds of catching rare items increase

[*] Elite bait
[*] Master Bait

_the fish_
fish, like any other material in the game, will have a rank of stars, from 0 to 5, the higher the stars, the higher the price
im not sure about the prices yet, but 5 star fish shouldn't go beyond 10k crowns unless it is a very rare fish
if you don't like the fish you got, you can also throw it to the face of another player or even return it to the water
fish can also be used as food for sprites
but who is gonna buy the fish?

[*] Construct fish
[*] DEVIL fish
[*] Strange gremlin fish?
[*] rare golden fish
[*] Mineral fish, red, yellow, purple, green and blue

_The Fisher Knight Merchant_
this npc will buy any type of fish you might catch, it also will pay a higher price for more expensive and rare fish (super rare fish)
he also sells the 1 star beginner fishing rod plus the recipes for a normal attack fishing rod (for 1,000 crowns) and some fishing themed cosmetics, like a cap and a vest, also if you like to find other fishing rod recipes, you will have to go into the arcade and buy them from the basil NPC
the Fisher knight will also give you a tutorial of how to fish and where to find more fishing spots

_The fishing spots_
these spots can be found on the clockworks, during an arcade run, you might encounter a big place to fish!
BUT the stuff you can fish in those pounds are limited! after a while it runs out of stuff to catch!, so you and your party will have to move on and try to find another fishing spot on other depths, some knights might not agree to stay and fish and would like to move on the arcade, they always have the choice to go alone and join their party members later once they are done fishing, or they can just go alone if they choose not to fish.

fishing spots are protected by monsters, so you will have to defeat them first before you can use those spots
there will also be a fishing place on heaven, for those who rather do this for fun and not for rewards, and chat whole doing it.

_Items_
the items you get from fishing, besides fish
[*]Bottles; you rick click to use these bottles, inside they contain a recipe! (weapon, armor, swords ect) or a note from a past knight
[*]Crates; these crates contain stuff like, crowns, orbs, fire crystals, confetti, even a rare trinket
[*]Gear; finding gear inside green or red clover boxes is pretty rare, so fishing is another way to find more gear besides treasure boxes.
[*]Fishing trinket, this trinket can only be found inside "fishing price boxes" while fishing, it increases the fishing power by low or medium
[*]fishing armor, fishing armor? yes, this fishing armor will boost your fishing power, you can find the recipes on basil during an arcade run
from 3 to 5 stars (you can craft this set with the cobalt armor, but thats just my idea to give the cobalt armor other uses)

_the fishing mechanic_
I'm not very sure how this one should work, maybe similar to games like Stardew valley, minecraft or terraria
seeing something move in the water, it emits a sound effect AND pulling the rod with right click and see what you got
this is up to the developers of how they want to make this mechanic work.

and i think thats it, you can also suggest other stuff, this is just an idea of how it could work on spiral knights
