F2P does not equal avoid paying money at all costs
I'm really curious why people are absolutely so adverse to spending money on products they like.
I see people complaining about the high cost of CE or the low drop of crowns and I'm just thinking to myself you aren't paying anything for your experience. Not a single penny, so to say that Three Ring is lying when they say F2P is absurd. Unlike other F2P MMO's you actually can get EVERYTHING that a paying player can get. Most F2P's I've seen have Cash ONLY items and they are usually so much better than non-Cash items that there is really no point in playing without them.
At least in Spiral Knights you can play the game, that I hope you like playing, and still get everything without paying a cent. Yet I see people saying that they shouldn't have to pay any money and that getting things takes too long. Well you have to remember that it costs Three Rings to run this game, they have to encourage people to spend money. If you don't want too, that's fine, you can play with your 100 energy everyday like the rest and just take longer. You should still be having fun while doing it, if not why are you playing at all?
The CE price is in flux right now because there was just a HUGE influx of new players. Me included who purchased $40 worth CE and I've used a most of it to get my 5* set I have. That's at least 10000CE that wasn't in the market before I started. So of course the market prices are going to be in flux. Not to mention the AH changes the speed at which you can sell.
In the end enjoy the game and have fun. If you like the game and don't like the pace that F2P offers than support it with money. It's not a scam, its paying money for your entertainment. I guarantee you that if you like the game you'll get a whole helluva lot more for your $20 than you would at a movie theater. On $20 I played at least a good 40+ hours and that included buying all recipes, some mats, and crafting a full set of 5* gear. This game isn't that expensive, if you like it support it.

Okay so I have always thought trading real money for monopoly money(CE) just wasn't for me so I can definitely see that side. The complaining side however bugs me like crazy. Seriously I wish they would make this game harder so I won't have everything fully upgraded so quick. They can only make new releases every so often. I know people like to advance and get their 5 star armor as quick as possible but as soon as you get everything upgraded I don't think most people realize that is just about the end of the game. So they love to complain about crafting and CE and all without realizing after they reach that goal there is only so much left to actually do.
People are complaining because they have to spend money. The truth is, they don't have to if they want to play. They're just too impatient to take the week in order to become self sustained. All anybody really has to do, is spend $2.45. That's it. $2.45 to play this game forever. No waiting around for energy, and no more paying. You basically get unlimited gameplay for this small price. I think it's worth it. However, the game is truly f2p. You have to play for about an hour every day, and work your way into T2. Then it's entirely free. You can play forever either way, and it's totally free. Then there are the people who are willing to pay more than the basic. That's because they want to get in quickly, and not work their way into the game as much.
People need to understand, it is a f2p game. You can play it entirely for free, for a lifetime. It's going to start off slow though. If you're in such a rush, it's very worth the $2.45 price tag to get yourself started. Nobody is saying to buy thousands and thousands of CE, and nobody is saying to buy CE at all. You either keep your ADD mind under control, or you shell out pocket change to play forever. Which you don't even have to do! Minecraft costs more than this, just saying.

Oh yeah also, what the post above says^ Very good point. Also have to remember most people are from the Western world. We love to get things now and our way, after all we do consume almost all of the earths resources, have to get things when we want them instead of waiting!
What Jaerin said is true.
On top of that, I would like to say.
To play for free, you pay with time or else, money.
Also, I would like to mention I've tried a lot of "free" games. If you want all of the areas unlocked, or you want to be able to use all the equipment, you have to pay a membership fee. Or even worse, you pay $20 for the best weapon in the game, and then they release a new "best weapon" for $30 a few months later.

Quoted for Truth.
Not that it'll make any difference, but thanks for posting it.
