I'm really curious why people are absolutely so adverse to spending money on products they like.
I see people complaining about the high cost of CE or the low drop of crowns and I'm just thinking to myself you aren't paying anything for your experience. Not a single penny, so to say that Three Ring is lying when they say F2P is absurd. Unlike other F2P MMO's you actually can get EVERYTHING that a paying player can get. Most F2P's I've seen have Cash ONLY items and they are usually so much better than non-Cash items that there is really no point in playing without them.
At least in Spiral Knights you can play the game, that I hope you like playing, and still get everything without paying a cent. Yet I see people saying that they shouldn't have to pay any money and that getting things takes too long. Well you have to remember that it costs Three Rings to run this game, they have to encourage people to spend money. If you don't want too, that's fine, you can play with your 100 energy everyday like the rest and just take longer. You should still be having fun while doing it, if not why are you playing at all?
The CE price is in flux right now because there was just a HUGE influx of new players. Me included who purchased $40 worth CE and I've used a most of it to get my 5* set I have. That's at least 10000CE that wasn't in the market before I started. So of course the market prices are going to be in flux. Not to mention the AH changes the speed at which you can sell.
In the end enjoy the game and have fun. If you like the game and don't like the pace that F2P offers than support it with money. It's not a scam, its paying money for your entertainment. I guarantee you that if you like the game you'll get a whole helluva lot more for your $20 than you would at a movie theater. On $20 I played at least a good 40+ hours and that included buying all recipes, some mats, and crafting a full set of 5* gear. This game isn't that expensive, if you like it support it.
