A handful of Catalyzer gun ideas

Note that all of these suggestions are individual ideas and not designed to be implemented altogether.

  • - Chain detonation: explosions from one target can detonate Catalyzer projectiles orbiting different targets
  • - Super orbiting projectiles: 5 orbiting projectiles will now merge into 1 super orbiting projectile. Super orbiting projectile explosions do roughly 6x the damage of a normal orbiting projectile explosion, and the explosion radius is larger. The idea is to reward the player for playing along with the gimmick. This would also help reduce the severe screen shake effect.
  • - Remove reload animation (similar to Owlite Wand, but shorter intervals between shots): this would allow players to load onto enemies a great amount of orbiting projectiles very quickly without stopping
  • - Improved hit detection and detonation: improved normal and charge projectile hit detection. Charge projectiles now do not need to hit objects or enemies to trigger detonations and may detonate orbiting projectiles surrounding multiple enemies in close proximity to each other at once
  • - Reversed knockback and delayed explosions: Upon detonating orbiting projectiles surrounding a target, explosions will go off in a slightly staggered timeline instead of all at once. Explosions also suck enemies towards their center instead of repelling them. This would improve the utility of the Catalyzers by helping allies hit enemies more easily and would also help explosions impact multiple enemies per blast.
