Accessories on Mecha Helm?

Disclaimer: I know nothing about coding or making games or editing models. I am merely a Spiral Knights appreciator, approaching hat in hand with my desperate plea.

Having bound my Toasty Mecha Helm, I was crestfallen to learn that you cannot accessorise it, which I imagine is due to the fact that the thing is wiggling around all the time. Wouldn't it look so cute adorned with some antennas, or a halo, or some horns? Just imagine!

So, my question is: What are the technical limitations that prevent accessorising this helmet and other moving models? As far as I know, stationary helmets move also along with the knight they're equipped to, as demonstrated by the idle animations in the player inspect screen. Surely any attached accessories would just be tacked onto the model of the moving helmet, and could be subject to the same movements? Again, I lack the experience to have any idea how easy/difficult this would be, so I'd appreciate any insight from anyone with appropriate knowledge.

Alternatively: what about a toggle for the helmet that allows you to make it stationary, shutting off the jitters, so you can accessorise it? And if you were to toggle the movement back on again, the accessories would be invisible until toggled once more? That would be nice, I think. While I find the jitters very cute, I think it would be equally as if not slightly more cute to put some charming spectacles or a pipe on it.
