Energy as a fixation point

Currently every single thing in spiral knights revolves around energy. This makes sense, as OOO wants to make as much money as they possibly can, which is reasonable. However, I am becoming more and more frustrated with the fact that no matter how well I'm playing, there are times when i simply don't make enough crows to continue to play. By which I mean i don't make enough to buy more CE to make another dive in to the clockworks. Above all else, my goal in this game is to do well enough to keep playing. Nothing to me is more bothersome than feeling that no matter how successful my expeditions are, I'm still punished in some way for spending any CE. Spiral knights is a delightful game that I am trying my hardest to sink countless hours in to but the game itself is resisting that.

I understand not wanting to provide players with more energy. Or the option to buy a refill on mist energy, which I've seen suggested numerous times.

My idea is an elevator pass that allows someone to keep riding the elevators until they either Energy resurrect or return to haven. In short, if someone can make it to the bottom they can keep playing. This could also be limited just to making it to the bottom of your highest available tier.
