When a mob gets hit by one of the pulsar guns, the big flash of light makes it so I can't see the mob, and more to the point, can't see what the mob is doing. This makes it so I can't tell if the mob is going to attack, and if I need to block or dodge. In a game that relies heavily on seeing when mobs are going to attack, and then blocking or dodging those attacks, this is a problem. Making the graphics smaller, or perhaps making them partially transparent, would fix it.
