I thought it was on the wiki somewhere, but I can't find it.
I remember seeing a page that listed what the penalties to your gear was when you were in the higher tiers. Does someone have a link to that?
Looking for the info on how gear is nerfed when in easier tiers.
The only penalties which are known exactly are health penalties, which specifically add up to only being able to have 2 additional health points in tier 1 and 6 additional health points in tier 2, unless wearing gear that increases health more than the default amount. Also note that the penalty in tier 2 for 4* health bonuses is enough to make you lose health points going from 3* to 4* armor. This goes back to normal health levels once the equipment in question is heated to level 5, and 5* armor's health in tier 2 never changes.

There are damage penalties for weapons, but they vary between weapons. I think it's something along the lines of 55-60% damage reduction per tier below where the item should be used. I may be off, there. A lot of 4* and 5* weapons on the wiki have damage tables for all tiers.
If there's a penalty for armor defense, it's not known. Probably does exist, but apart from health bonuses, an upgrade is always still an upgrade, for weapons and armor. Even if the damage range in tier 2 is only increased by 5 damage or so, there's a difference between 4* and 5*

This not always true. There quite a few known cases where the 5* version (at level 10) does less damage that the 4* version in second half of tier 4. (See for example the damage table for ascended calibur and leviathan blade.) Of course, 5* version often have other advantages such as longer range, increase knockback, or better charge attack that still make them worthwhile in tier 2.
