so i just got my first 5star sword which is leviathan lv 1.
i realize that after getting the sword, my movement/ attack speed slow down quite alot
and i die more often than before. is it because of my lv 1 heat sword?

If you were using the
If you were using the Ascended Calibur before the Leviathan Blade, then you should have no difference in attack speed.
Those two have the exact same speed, no difference at all.
It's also the same speed as the Brandish lines.
The only thing Heat affects is damage (slightly) and the Charge Time Reduction (Low at lv. 5, Medium at lv. 10).
The thing that comes off as 'something wrong' is your stated movement speed reduction. The Leviathan Blade has zero effect on your movement speed.
Just make sure that the speed of your previous weapon wasn't just based on the type (Such as Cutter), UV or a specific armor set.
Heat has no effect on attack speed. It may be that the lev. is just slower than whatever sword you were used to--were you using cutter series? Or were you using a sword that had an attack speed increase UV, maybe? You can check the relative attack speeds of weapons on the wiki. If your movement was effected as well, it may have also just been plan ol' lag.
