More Arena-like Combat

The thing I really like most about this game is the arena levels and danger rooms. It's not just the heat and the gold - combat is fun. Outmaneuvering a swarm of enemies in an enclosed space is one of the more skill-intensive aspects of the game, and one of the few parts of Clockworks that emphasizes combat beyond rote room-clearing.

But it's always the same, and unless you get a lucky lineup (like Golden Sun), you have to go to great key-collecting pains for a relatively short amount of combat. I hope I'm not the only one who wishes I could jump into heavy combat as soon as I log on.

What I'm suggesting is some kind of gladiatorial side game, separate from Clockworks: "Survival Mode." You'd pay entry using crowns or CE, and have to fight waves of monsters, or progress through an infinite series of rooms, each with increasing difficulty, until you die. The types of enemies you'd be fighting would constantly change, so it would pay to have a diverse arsenal and good strategy amongst your teammates. There could be regular treasure drops, and/or after every X rounds, you'd get a reward.

I think this would appeal to a lot of players who love fighting, but can leave the running, backtracking, and waiting of a Clockworks excursion. It gives players more bang for their energy buck, but it also keeps those CE sales flowing, as players will want to pay to revive and avoid losing their progress.
