Hi. You know what's really annoying? Sitting around for a gate to change to a gate you want. What I purpose is to add a switch to the side of each gate. When accessing the switch it gives you the option to "fast forward" to the next gate in the queue. "Oh no, why don't you just wait" you may say. "It's your fault for trying to exploit the system" you may say. Well bah humbug to all of that. The reality is that almost everyone does this (mostly for arenas). The idea that something should be a certain way and well if people don't like it then too bad is destructive and annoying.
Now, something you could do is add a fee to using this device. For each time you use it (you'd have to move it multiple times if you want to switch the gate multiple times) it could cost something. It'd have to be super small though or else nobody will use it and then we're back to square one. For instance it could maybe cost 200 crowns or 3 energy.
Something else that could be done is also getting items from various places (like bribing Krogmo) that can be inserted into these devices to create an entirely new gate for the instance your team is on. For instance let's say Krogmo gives all winning players a gate token thing that when inserted into the switch thing by a gate it makes the gate turn into a special map that is otherwise inaccessible. Kind of like a secret level.
Of course this won't be implemented though. For instance heat is and has always been inherently flawed. Heat is supposed to be a reward but it is no longer a reward when you have nothing to upgrade. It's bad game design to have it like the way it is now. However it's never been changed. The suggestion I gave awhile ago was to create "skill slots" where a player could equip a skill like an armor or weapon. This would give the illusion of having classes without actually having classes. And that the skills would need heat to be able to be used. And that heat stays with you from gate to gate but there's a max. And that leveling equipment use a different system than heat. But to this day OOO refuses to change the heat system, which is the most flawed thing about this game, so why should I expect them to do something like this either.
