Dancing. It's the source of everything.
Knights only "get the urge to dance". But we never get the chance to actually dance at all. Because Knights are forbidden to dance. Why is that? Because, for one, it goes agaisnt the code of honor of knighthood. For two, it would scare te living hell out of the Snipes. And for three, dancing is possibly what fuels the Crystal Energy. Refueling your own crystal energy would force the economy into another recess and probably change the outcome of the mission on Cradle (and force income losses to some cosmic beings responsible for the creation of all existance, from pirates to downrocketing).
The Strangers have been accostumed to this for a long time, which would explain their carefree and quiet demeanor. And robots don't dance...or can energize from dancing...or energize from banging a drum on wheels either.
One suspicious fellow is Punch, the local UV synthetizer in the Bazaar. He's stressed out of his being, quivering and shaking around. With the restriction on dancing in all of Haven, this would put him on such pressure while trying to hold back his former dancing routines. Clearly Gremlins know the secret behind Crystal Energy and, to a relevant extent, the Core. And as such, their activities rising the more you descend closer to the Core hints at this plausible theory.
If this turns out to be wrong and disproven by OOO, I'll give you all Brimstones.
