I'm not sure if this even goes here, but it's really pissed me off.
I had just made a Wolver set to sell and I checked how much it would cost to buy on AH.
It went like this:
Cap: 2650
Coat: 2300
Total: 4950
I decided to sell mine cheaper, so I happily announced I was selling a Wolver set for 4.5K.
Immediately, some guy (I know his name, I just don't want to call him out just yet) told people not to listen to me, that I was trying to scam them.
I denied it obviously, but he insisted I would end up taking all of their crowns. I didn't even know this guy.
After he intoned the old fashioned: Who would you rather believe? Me, an innocent player, or this Underling? I went to check the AH prices again. They were the same.
I maintained that my prices were cheaper, and invited anyone to check for themselves. HE maintained I was trying to scam people.
Eventually, he opens a trade screen with me and says he will buy it. I showed him the stuff, then he closes it and runs around telling everyone I just tried to scam him.
Another person from his guild came to support him, while I constantly tried to defend myself always saying that they could go check the damn AH prices themselves.
Either way, they just would not let it drop that I wasn't a scammer. They called me a shame for trying to scam a noob, in which he quickly changed his vog cub cap and his (was it ashtail..?) coat to regular wolver gear.
Anyway, I managed to sell it to someone who I later befriended for 4K. The accuser came back and told the guy that I just scammed him, and was 'laughing all the way to the bank'. I just stood there and said that I was still there, but I had to get off because of...personal reasons. I came back on a few seconds later and found the guy I sold it to, to make sure he was satisfied and that he knew I wasn't a scammer. Fortunately, he was ok, and I added him.
I HATE scammers, and therefore absolutely DETEST even being LIKENED to them. I was more than outraged being accused without any rounds of being a scammer.
1: My prices were cheaper than the AH.
2: No false advertising.
The guy I sold it to even got a 500 crown discount off it. I eventually sold it about 950 cr below the best AH buy now price.
Anyone got anything to say? I'm mostly just venting, but I am SERIOUSLY pissed off at that guy...

Hnh. I DID report the guy, in the 'other' category as False accusation of me being a scammer. Anyway, my price was cheaper than ANY of the other wolver buy now prices at the time. In a COMBO at least.
Thanks for support guys. I got scammed once before, and you can bet I'll never forget his/her name. I haven't seen him/her on since the last time I tried to contact, when he/she immediately logged off.
He tried to take away my integrity, and that I will not stand for. Not even online.

Yeah, I paid maybe a few more crowns than that in AH for the Wolver set. It was almost 5K crowns for it all together. I give full support and tryptic is right on most people. Online activities are full of trolls and noobs. I dun wanna get into the subject of noobs being commonly mistaken for newbs. It's a very long subject of matter.

You're right, it is your choice and the other dude's if you wan to complete the transaction at whatever price it was. It's not a scam. If the guy was willing to pay that much, then that's fine. The most he can say is that he got ripped off. He can only call it a scam if you falsely advertised it.
I wish something could be done about scammers, but only so much can be done.

Fully explained multiple times it was a hat AND coats for 4.5K, and he had 5* gear. No noob.
ANd I didn't have much time. I usally just pop on to do some business then pop back off if I don't have time to actually play. Plus, If I switched Havens, then it would be assumed that I WAS indeed a scammer and just ran to avoid exposure. I don't want to lose my integrity as a trustworthy player, at least in actual trades and what, not playing skill XD.
He wouldn't let it drop either. He had MULTIPLE chances to slip away, but he just came back and told whoever I just sold it to I just scammed him.
He was a real pain in the ass. Even if I DID end up selling it, albeit cheaper ^^.

Persistant spamming
its best to just ignore him if that happens, send a support ticket or a bug report. If a GM whos free comes and see's this, odds are he will be temp banned for one of the above.
By retorting to his comments, you are proving they got to you. Ignore him and people will think hes gone mental.

I told him that I had just got back from a week long vacation and had only logged on to craft caliburs. He continued to insist that I had stolen 2000 crowns from him. When I asked him about the details and such, he seemed extremely dodgy and said that he would report me, then followed up with "Too ez scammer noob"
Either he was trying to scam me or he mistook me for the wrong guy.

Some Knights (and people) are just jerks...
You know, the sad thing is that this happens quite often to people; 1 Knight who decides that he's better than everyone else goes and attempts to ruin someone else's day. It's atrocious to see this happen, and it's sad that no one else actually stood up for you.
Arasuki is also right: the guy was being a bully, and the best way to defeat a bullying person is simply to ignore what they say as if it doesn't matter to you. I can definitely understand feeling as if your integrity was in question, but also if you fight against it you seem to be a lot more contradicting of a person. Especially when you know (and several others know) that you have a good and honest gaming life.
Now, if you were able to say that he followed you around in order to prevent you from making sales, not only is he immature, but you can report him for harrassing you with his company. It probably would have been best to try your hardest to sell in the same Haven, but all Knights also know that in order to sell items you need to find a good buyer. Realistically, every knight there probably knew that the other guy was absolutely wrong because he out-front accused you for absolutely no reason.
For sure though, even just by putting this up for moderators is a good thing. It publicizes your dilema for everyone to see, and the support here for you is evident.

Valkyrie182 in cases like this you should next time just ignore or block them right away. SK has a lot of haters, well for what ever reason. Then move on to reporting them. I would even move to a different haven when you get morons like them. Some people on this game can be out right jerks because they feel they are safe behind the character they create. Those guys messing with you sound like they were doing this just to get a reaction out of you. There was a time me and a guildie joined a Jelly King run. The entire time the guy was hazing, harassing and boasting about who he was and how cool his job was. I ignored him till the very end, and told him him "you dont impress me and I don't give a crap about your stupid job." My guildie on the other hand had to argue with and try to out impress him, and then he tried to out wit him in knowledge in the topic they were talking about. So we got to the Jelly King Fight, and as soon as we all stood on the button the guy kicked my guildie to have him face jelly king alone. I turned to the guy and told him he was a week loser and he sickens me. He laughed about it and said he was going to report me blah blah blah. He had nothing on me the idiot. His name was Xuther so if you get in a run with this guy kick him or go solo. It is just to show you the world is full of haters and jerks

Take it out of the public
Take it out of the public shouting and put it in the AH. If I tried to hock my stuff for the prices I ask in Haven, this would be happening to me too. Kids think they're slick by doing this kind of stuff...stuff which would get them shut down by the BBB or even arrested in real life. The internet is just one big pirate-infested ocean, so know how to steer into safe harbors, I guess.
Sell through AH and mark up a small amount to compensate for the selling fee. Put in your bidding price veeeery low, and you'll minimize your listing fee. There is profit to be had with listing fee compensation, but I haven't worked it out yet.

I guess I responded only to try and keep my name clear. My thoughts were that if this guy continues to accuse me, then it would be known all around that I was a scammer. Which is false.
But I see your point. This actually happens a lot to me in real life as well. Though at a lesser extent...
Tengu, personally I used to sell a lot of materials on AH, and I sold the cheap ones like this:
eg: scrap: starting bid 1cr
listing fee is 25 cr
Sold: 1cr
Profit:1cr.
Cus the material was free, any sale is profit. Not much, I know, but I sell them in HUGE amounts, so there would be like 50 posts like those.
More often than not, they sell. Got green shards sold for 30cr a piece.
He didn't exactly follow me around, he just stuck around the area. I never changed area, but he would walk of,, come back, renew his argument as I advertised, and go off again.
Btw his name was Bosschin. Can't remember his friend or his guild, but like the first and last person who scammed me, I will never forget his name...
Creepy I know, but that's me.

That happened to me! Sort of. I logged in and a guy standing in front of me immediatley sent me a tell that said "You owe (insert name here) 2k cr." He said his other character gave me 5k cr but would only take back 2k. I was like, O_o... and i ran away. but he kept telling me to gimme his money. He was a scammer kind of guy. I think. I have a really badish memory, so I probably wouldn''t remember. But I remeber the most someone ever gave me was like 200-1k cr. But I am 99.99% sure i don't owe him cr.
And to Valkyrie, good job for standing up for yourself and reporting him! Maybe u should report the guild mate too.
I'm thinking of making a list of people who piss me off. Your harraser has just earned a spot in it.

While my energy usage history showed none of this in the midst of a story full of holes, it was reinforced that haters and those who want to give you a hard time simply won't be convinced otherwise. I was going to pay 10,000 for a Grintovec, i pressed submit, but the guy didnt put in the grintovec i was going to trade for. I told him to give it back. He just gave me a :P Smiley and logged off. A day's worth of grinding down the drain...
The next day, i was going to trade someone else 1000Cr for a plasma cell. I accidentally put another zero, and he didnt trade back. Another full day's worth of grinding, down the drain.
I was really sick of it, so i just decided to use the AH to buy all my stuff. But then i accidentally pressed bid instead of buy now, the buy price was 40,000, amd the bid is 30,000. I not only missed my chance to buy it, but my bid was refunded when i went to sleep. I think i went mental in school in around second period. My god, so many [jerks] on SK.

Yeesh. When I hear stories like this I consider myself incredibly lucky. The worst thing's that's happened to me is being cajoled into going into a danger room by party members who say they can handle it, but in actuality are the ones dying the most.
If something like that ever happens around me, I'll be sure to check the auction house and call the guy out for being a compulsive liar. Maybe it won't stop him from running at the mouth like a busted septic tank, but being alone and slandered by a guy like that? That's terrible.

Wow. The price must have dropped a lot since I made this thread. Really, the prices fluctuated around 200cr from the prices I listed at the time. It was an okay deal at the time. 'At the time' was what, a 2 months ago?
Yeah. A scam is anything that gets you either noting for something, or something you didn't want for something. ie, a Frost gel for 1K but he told you it was a chroma tear.
Its not a scam if you try to sell a frost gel for 1K. Thats just over pricing, and...not scamming? Some people get these things confused around sometimes.
Well, I've gotten past this, and managed to clockwork enough to get some new gear, and more cr. Hope I don't meet that guy anytime soon. Or ever would be better. Really, why he even bothered is beyond me...

Stop it this thread has died and should stay dead, and time changes things so what was valid then might not be so now.
I'm adding this to my list of reasons why I so heavily despise people.
You have every reason to be mad. IMO, you should report the guy for giving you a hard time and harrassing you about it; they can't counterclaim that you were trying to scam someone without photo evidence.
