Valve is currently rolling out a feature that allows for the trading of items between games on Steam. Spiral Knights, Portal 2 and Team Fortress 2 are the first games to participate in this initiative.
You can learn more about the details of this feature here: http://store.steampowered.com/news/6201/
We're excited by the opportunity this feature will afford Steam players interested in trying Spiral Knights and other games on Steam.
However, there are a couple of important things that we would like our players to know. If you have set up a community/profile page on Steam, you should be aware that any items except crowns and energy in your inventory as well as all knights on the same account will, following the release of this feature, be considered profile information. As such, they can be visible to other players depending on your privacy settings.
Many players that have created community/profile pages have their privacy set to "public"; given the impact of the new trading feature, you may wish to review this setting in your Steam client if you have set up a profile page. You should also consider this factor if you choose to set up a profile page in the future.
Our participation in this initiative is based on our interest in expanding player options. If you have any thoughts or comments about this feature, we'd love to hear them.
