How much resistance does the Recon's debuff take off?
At first I assumed it would be like, ALL of it, but now I'm not so sure. After all, I have exactly zero shadow resistance at the moment (I really should work on that, shouldn't I?) and I die to two hits from a nightblade, which is only even HALF shadow damage and half Normal (which I've got plenty of resistance to) but if I'm playing recon, and I put the debuff on someone wearing normal/piercing resist armor like wolver or jelly sets, it seems to take me about... three pokes in the face with my Rigadoon. Also, I tried using my Kamarin as Recon (Which I would advise you to be REALLY CAREFUL about. Having lowered attack speed while using anything from the troika series will leave you very vulnerable to counter-attacks) and it still took at least two hits to kill people. If they had been left with zero normal resistance, I don't think they'd survive the first hit of something that deals so much sheer damage per hit.
So, maybe the debuff HALVES the resistance? Or maybe it lowers it by a fixed amount, that is such it would completely remove low levels of resistance but if they've got a lot of one kind they'd still be left with some of it? What do you guys think? Do your personal experiences support or contradict my findings?
Does this apply for Guardians?

Yeah, I'd like to know that as well.
Thanks in advance!
And hi nick! ;)
xD

The death mark does not affect shields, so the guardian shield defense and the first hit a recon can receive before losing cloaking are not affected by the death mark.
LD is suuure complex. COMPLEXITY = FUN!!!!
I get a guardian and pair up with someone. Defend them, and get them to attack my enemies.
And Hi nick! :D
I actually hadn't noticed that the recon cloak had any defensive value. I sometimes try to shield instinctively but I always assumed it just uselessly broke the shield... sometimes permanently. It would be nice if that bug got fixed in the next update to save me a trip back to the locker.
I thought it didn't. Recon cloak just can remove all defence from a player with the death mark, minus shields. like striker, I don't think it has any defence shield ability...
If this is true then why, exactly, does it still take a minimum of three pokes in the face with a rigadoon to kill someone with a death mark? :I

Perhaps the player has, say, 11 health, and each hit of your Rigadoon does 5.
If it takes 3 hits to kill an unarmored foe in Tier 2...
...Then I think your Death Mark is working correctly. You only kill stuff faster than that in Tier 3. Weapon scaling heavily outpaces armor scaling.
Also, maybe try testing it on targets that already have Piercing defense vs. those that don't. Costumes are disabled in Lockdown so you know exactly what kind of armor they're wearing. (Come to think of it, you won't even need to mark someone if you already have no defenses against your weapon... Just swoop in and strike.)

Really I was kind of wondering about seeing if bored guilds might wanna test damage values in friendly matches, but I didn't suggest it since I wouldn't be helping anyway lol

Next thing you know they are wearing a max shadow full vog set -_- i encountered one... ouch to my gran faust

The person who two-shotted you with a nightblade was probably me.
Recon is my one and only class for T2 LD. Dusker/Wolver combo (now full dusker set) Nightblade, Autogun.
Happy trails! :D (It would be totally funny if it was me who killed you with a nightblade lol)

The Recon death mark removes all defense. Once you have the death mark on you, the only thing keeping you alive is your hit points.
