I updated to today's patch
now when I open spiral knights I get an error message saying
"We experienced a problem authenticating with Steam.
Please ensure that the Steam client is running and that you are not logged in elsewhere"
I am pretty sure I'm not logged in steam anywhere else as I only have this machine active for steam. And my steam client is currently running properly
Already restarted my machine just in case there was something else, I haven't updated any drivers or software.
We're aware of this one and looking into it folks, hang in there!
Yup, same for me. Just started about 30 minutes ago. Explicitly, here is what happened:
I logged in via Steam around 7 PM, and it let me in just fine. Crafted an upgrade for my helm, then went to the arcade to head on down. Went to Sapphire something ladder, and as soon as I clicked descend, it kicked me out to the main login prompt giving me the same message as OP:
"We experienced a problem authenticating with Steam.
Please ensure that the Steam client is running and that you are not logged in elsewhere"
I've tried restarting steam. logging out and logging in to steam, restarting the computer, trying from a different computer, and even deleting the whole local files and reinstalling from scratch. Nada, still getting the same message.
Very irritating since I just pumped some more money into it. After all the latest patch issues, especially in regards to steam, I very much regret converting my account.
Just tried logging in again and it seems to be working.
