Those are Jelly Cubes.
Those are Jelly Cubes, Evilnut. Lichens are the other kind of Slimes, which look uncannily like the Slimes in Legend of Legaia. Those are my favourites, by the way. They look awesome and nostalgic, and when they merge they start reminding me of Banelings. Most importantly, they drop lots more loot when they Voltron together, so they are first to come to my mind when I try to think of a favourite monster.

Why charge?
They green minis are one non-charged shot from my Combuster, so I don't think that the Leviathan would have much trouble slicing them this way either.

I also like lichens. It doesn't matter much to me whether or not they develop spikes, a large lichen colony drops great loot but is still relatively easy to kill. What I'm *not* entirely sure of is whether killing individual lichens will give you more loot than one large lichen colony.
Also the bubbly green ones. They have the same structure as lichens, but they don't merge (at least not at my level, T2).

@stavrosg No, they don't :/ they just drop all the loot you would have gotton from killing all the individuals in one go, which makes it appear to be more....
