As I do the prepwork for the layout data, I'd love to know what people want from layout data.
I was able to garner some information on zone layout... determine which enemies are in a zone... look for overriding status tendencies etc.
If people want to skim the Eight, to determine data on current zones... what kinda info do they want.
Is there anyway I can help contribute to the 8? Id like to explore every part of spiral knights as well. :) (but first I need to get to a higher tier. >.<)
To do this you will need large quantities of CE, which likely means spending money... I would like to help, but I'm afraid I'm still tier 1 and I don't know how much I could do. But by the looks of it you'll have quite a few volunteers. I would recommend starting a guild to make organizing this easier (If you plan on using volunteers)
While I agree with you, in these early stages there's nothing for me to do except spread my energy thin, do my best and provide all the data I can.
Maybe later on I might get some energy donors to help provide for the runs.
To expedite the production of zones, it would be good if I could apply images ... I don't know if that's possible in this forum.
How to add 32x32 pictures?
Instead you could have a Google Docs with the images, it would also allow for group work on charts, etc., which you could link to. Do you know about Google Docs?

I'll be on a frost jelly level and get gremlins, etc.
Since you can't tell what's in there until you commit the energy it's TERRIBLE when you get the broken ass combos:

You said something earlier about energy sponsors right? Well to make it worthwhile to them you could give them a portion of the materials found while exploring. This would make CE easier to get, and help the sponsors too by earning them materials (And maybe some crowns...) while they're away!
Edit: Another method would be granting access to the maps for CE, that way players could know what to do in a dungeon. Thanks Kalarix for the idea!

Okay, So I decided to try it and failed pretty bad. xD Its kind of hard to do runs and map everything, I didn't want to slow my party down so I rushed a lot and just messed up. It might have been better with a party also wanting to contribute to 8. I will also have to read up in the wiki to know all the monsters. well I still got some done. :/ I couldn't get the spaces to show so I had to use ".".

Your purpose is a bit unclear to me. I find it hard to give feedback/input when I don't know what something is trying to accomplish.

In eight days players have gotten as far as we have, most of us reaching T3 (T2 here, but will all but one T3 gear in three days of playing). The only advantage we have over new players is, of course, the cost of E. Just tell new players tat crowns and heat are distributed throughout parties, that you can sell those crystals that are split, and that ep binding makes sense.
Get the data in the Arcade on what minerals went into each level section of the gate before it is created :)
Other people are already doing that, and it would be even more work on an already insanely huge project.
Also, while I won't be able to play SK on my trip I can still post here on the forums. Finally, @Shockfrost, I could start a guild to help organise this- I've got the CE and crowns.
Today's not a good day to get started. We'll try tomorrow.
