6. Why do you want to join Impervious? Well, I'm already in a guild, though most of the time only 1-7/81 people are online. This is most likely due to the timezone differences. Though my present guild isn't bad I'd like a guild that is highly active and supports just t3 events.

I was almost kicked for not freshly squeezing the lemons for Swarley's lemonade! Pretty sure she said she drives to the houses of inactive players and beats them with a shoe (her kicking shoe)!

I apologize for my absence as of late because life always comes first HOWEVER believe me, know I am almost always thinking of and about the guild because I love you guys :3 (probably too much for my own good btw haha)
After having a couple great discussions with a few people, I just wanted to say I'm extremely excited because we have some exciting ideas floating around that I think would make Impervious more amazing and enhance the overall experience for those in the guild. This may be a bit of a tease and I'm sorry but do expect another post spilling the details soon!

I've only tried it once so far and didn't care much for it. Felt too gear dependent to me which I don't quite have yet. Maybe more down the line though.
6. Why do you want to join Impervious?
Pretty much purely for the social experience. I'm a big fan of laidback groups that work as they tend to promote a selfless, communistic atmosphere without trying to guilt or force anyone into anything. Real lives before game lives has always been a personal motto of mine as well. I just started playing SK again two weeks ago after taking a year off, I'm guessing I won't have as much of a drive to continue playing a month or two from now if I don't expand from being a soloist. As I enjoy a lot of things about this game conceptually and have always been a big fan of Three Rings and the communities they tend to foster I figure I ought to at least try to motivate myself to keep playing by finding a group I want to play with.
A very brief history about my online gaming history: my past experiences included EverQuest, Puzzle Pirates, World of Warcraft, Spiral Knights, WoW some more, Diablo 3, and finally SK again. Diablo 3 was actually what got me back into SK as I found that I had actually enjoyed this game more after doing almost everything in D3 and finding myself hating the community and many things behind the game itself (which is a shame because I love Blizzard).
Almost without fail I end up leading groups and guilds I participate in and usually end up hating almost every moment of it. My practical mindedness and general efficiency usually lands me in some leadership position I don't want but I feel SK is a fairly safe game free of this concern because it lacks large scale goals or ultra elite obstacles that require such coordination. I ultimately just want some simple fun and to enjoy the game experience without having to stress out about anything.
Regarding my character: I just finished soloing all the story missions a couple of days ago. I haven't tried any Shadow Lairs yet so that's a goal somewhere down the line. My only in game goal currently is to heat up the rest of my 4 star gear to upgrade. I'm a F2P player (although I've bought OCH) but have more CE than I have a right to from my first month of playing a year ago. As a result, getting crowns or CE isn't at all a drive and I pretty much play just to heat stuff and for fun currently (and prestige I guess). So I'm hoping to find some people I'd enjoy running stuff with to motivate me to play more as my experience with pick up groups has been less than favorable.
I understand you guys might still be full and have no space to spare so if I hear nothing back in a few days then I'll try to look around elsewhere to see if there's another good fit for me. Oh, I should mention that I haven't had any contact with anyone in the guild yet (or pretty much with any players really) but the atmosphere and attitude that Impervious gives off seems like something I'd be into.

Apologies for the delay in making this post but after a final discussion with a couple people, this is definitely happening because we feel it can only impact the guild in a positive way. Since I’m quite busy since summer started, I haven’t had as much time to plan guild events as much as I would have liked. With this, we are looking to try something new which is to create an AWESOME Events Committee within the guild that will change everything (well maybe not everything but...many things :P).
What's this Events Committee that you speak of?
The Events Committee would be a dedicated team who will plan, coordinate and implement all of the future guild events in Impervious. Now...this isn't just ANY Events Committee but there is actually a pretty unique component to it as it will place emphasis in encouraging and stimulating participation from all those in the guild. How you ask? Please read on!
Essentially, a few Event Coordinators will be selected as these will be the people who probably make up the core of the guild as they've been here for who knows how long (lol) and are simply awesome. They will plan and organize guild events, HOWEVER their other main special responsibility will also be to help facilitate event ideas from Impervious members and make them happen. Here, ANY Impervious member who may have an idea for any kind of guild event will have the opportunity to submit an application form of their idea to those Coordinators, and depending on variety of factors and feasibility, if chosen, the applicant or the Padawan (google it!) will work in collaboration with those Event Coordinators to work out all the details and lastly, implement it.
As for the prizes, the Event Coordinators and Swarley will help to provide those accordingly if required (and obviously, there will ALWAYS be prizes!). Any member in Impervious will be free to help contribute to the guild as much as they want and time would allow, and more importantly, you will no longer restricted to participating in the guild events and games Swarley has planned (Hooray! - hahah)! All jokes aside, this idea is really to encourage those who have great big event ideas that would seem impossible to do alone to get the support they need to make it possible (obviously within reason and the limitations of the world of SK).
With this, I hope you are as excited as I am and if you do have an idea for a potential guild event, I highly suggest thinking it through and maybe start jotting down a brief description. OR if you don't have an idea, you can start to think of something if you think that's something you might be interested in and a challenge you want to partake :) Event Coordinators are currently being decided and will be annouced soon. I actually will be taking secret nominations for these however it's optional, BUT if you would like to nominate someone for the Event Coordinator positions (the quantity is still not determined), please feel free to mail Swarles WHO you would like to nominate and a brief description explaining WHY. Aside from that, the official event idea submission form will be posted shortly along with the coordinators!
On a side note, if you didn't already know (as I suspect most don't), on August 5, 2011, with Swarles and Sciasz' little impulsive decision to start a guild of their own, Impervious was born. I simply cannot believe it's almost been a whole year (as I certainly did not anticipate still being here haha...:P)...but do note there will be festivities happening on Sunday, August 5, 2012 to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the creation of our strange but wonderful guild that is Impervious.
There will be another annoucement to be made soon regarding specifically to LD so stayed tuned!

Having the AWESOME Haiku contest in May hosted by the amazing Narfle, he's back with another - the Impervious Best Pick Up Line Contest!
Not already a master pickup artist? Not to worry! Practice your skills here and use/share them your fellow guildies first for a good laugh before trying it on that girl OR guy! While everyone is familiar with pick up lines, to keep this contest interesting, all entries must be SK-related!
A few examples might be:

5. Do you play Lockdown or enjoy playing LD?: I enjoy playing lockdown...with the right people. Far too often joining random games isn't fun because there's a lack of teamwork. The few times I have played GvG I have loved it, so I think its a matter of playing with the right people! To be honest though, my gear is centered much more on PvE than PvP.
6. Why do you want to join Impervious?
I'm looking for a mature, fun and active guild. Impervious seems to be all three. In other games, ("what?" cry the audience, "there are other games than SK?") I have always loved guilds which encourage selflessness- as in you are in a guild to help others, not just to help yourself. Impervious certainly seems to fit this. Finally, I'd love to join a guild where you always log in to a group already having a fun chat, and where you can guarantee to have some top quality banter alongside dominating a T3 run.

RECRUITMENT ANNOUCEMENT: Impervious is now looking to build a NA LD team
After Sciasz stopped playing a few months back (for those who remember him) and I have gone inactive for a few weeks recently because of work, Impervious which is both a North American and EU guild, has become a bit more EU dominant due to my lack of activity. Some of our US players quit the game and other members moved onto Guild Wars 2. As a result, our activity during NA primetime is lacking and we are really hoping to get it back up to the way it used to be.
We continue to receive a ton of applications (and I apologize to those who did apply recently and I haven’t responded because I was away), but now we are looking to find interested individuals to help form our NA LD team because we do still have a couple of NA people left. Sadly not quite enough for a full team and we’d love a few more just to get a game going for Lockdown in the evenings. Impervious is not an LD-focused guild as we do a lot of PvE as well so we don’t necessarily play to win but rather to have fun and encourage any member that are interested to join the team. However in moments where the competition gets really tough we like to be able to muster up a team that can put up a good fight (because let’s face it, those are the most fun). Therefore we are looking for people to not only enhance our current NA LD members’ experience, but to also improve our guild as a whole.
Our GMs can’t always be there but I’d love for a couple people to join us and take initiative and help us out with getting this team going for Impervious. I really hope some would see this as an opportunity to be a part of an already established and respected community and with this, a new experience in the game. Hopefully with the guild update, we’ll be able to expand that to make Impervious a worldwide guild again and maybe at least a few of you who love Lockdown would be interested in taking part. If you’re an inexperienced LD player but who’s very keen on learning we welcome you too of course or if you have no interest in LD at all but have a great personality, we’re always looking for people like that who focus on PvE as well.
With all that being said, if this is something you might be interested in, please mail Swarleysparkles or post here. Some qualities we are looking for in our new recruits are be friendly, relatively active, willing to take initiative to start games and love Lockdown. We would like you to meet some of our other LD members and play some random games with us to see if you enjoy our company and if you’re a good fit. It’s just much better to know if we’re really what you’re looking for before you take the plunge as we’d only want those who are here to stay <3. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to add me as a friend and chat. I know most people have at least 1 or 2 really good friends in game so if it’s a small group or 2 or 3 who play LD, all the better because you’ll be the ones playing and building Impervious’ NA LD team together :)

Impervious had its 1 year anniversary on August 5, 2012 and we are probably one of the older guilds in the game that are still quite active. I can almost confidently say we have one of the best EU LD teams in the game (and a great NA LD team before) as well as one of the best communities (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=491966244164033&set=a.49196612749...) with some of the most friendly, fun, intelligent, mature members I’ve had the pleasure to meet in the game. We all play for fun when we can and don’t have any officers so the guild pretty much runs itself and we're looking for others who will take their initiative to make their stay a good one.

In terms of people who actively play Guild Wars 2... isn't the group comprised of me, cam, chio, and yfke? If I recall correctly, none of us are major US LD'ers :P However, if you guys ever need that 6th member for one of your games, I'm pretty much always online. Just throw a message to "AznAssn" in the Impervious Steam group and I'm there. :D
