A ton of people have been bugging me for a long time to upload a video of my full arsenal, here ya go.
Inb4 the flames, skip to 1:24 for my costumes
As many people think I bought these costumes with real money, I did not.
I bought most of them for 1k-2k ce during the first few days of the event, I made the CE (mostly when you could craft and sell 5* stuff) without spending real money.
However I did spend some real money on buying some costumes, but not even 20% of them. I have a job so it isn't really an issue for me.
Instead of buying a couple new video games I bought some energy in spiral knights, whatever makes you happy right?
Also to note, every time I did buy a promo pack, the 3500 ce that came with it got me 2 or more rose pieces.

Although it doesn't bother me, I have to question why it doesn't bother you spending that much real money on literally nothing (since they're the same items and theres no advantage to having more than one..), but putting that aside, how did you get those top 3 artifacts? :S

I actually have more gear with much better UVs. But I only have 1 costume cuz i don't spend money on the game.

But.. that's blatently a lie, one of those tabard/chapeaus are atleast 100k each, you can't possibly earn that much for all of them even if you were playing without sleep since the launch of the game and using the best gates and going at full speed.

You can make a lot of CE from crafting, doing Vana runs, etc. Think outside the Clockworks.

If I grind all day I can still make like 200k-300k crowns in a day, not even outside of the clockworks
Although, the methods are relatively secret, only a few even in my guild know.

Btw, what's the point of buying all those chapeaus when your amount of 5* gear is all the basic stuff almost everyone has?
Wait, no, a better question would be what's the point of all those chapeaus? You're just hoarding relatively useless junk, reminds me of the traders in TF2 who hoard all these promotional items because they forgot that there's a real game outside of trading cosmetic items. They don't impress me either, in fact they annoy me simply because people want those items to actually use and they're sitting there gathering dust in people's inventories.
You know what would be impressive? Having tons of 5* gear for every different given situation, including ones that haven't been added yet, and then instead of making 4287935793985 threads bragging about it, showing humility. Why? Spiral knights is a fun game, but it's not one of the big bragging rights games. There's no tournaments, there's no massive media attention, and it's not even close to being complete (which are reasons why I play it). In fact, the only legitimate bragging rights are the few awesome people who actually go through stages wearing proto gear or speedrun bosses.

Also the point of the Chapeaus and Tabards is that when I bought them, they were worth about 80k ce, now they are worth about 400k+ ce

Etc.

I imagine he has all those costumes because after the first chapeau offer had ended and people stopped selling them, the few that did sell rocketed in price. Looks like a pretty good investment to me.
And if Chris is telling the truth about how little he's spent on the game, that's not weird at all. Why spend $30 on a new video game if you prefer to play SK? Spend it on SK.
This post hurt to write because I still think Chris is a deluded child. :[

lots and lots of the new rose gear (might have been a bad move. i don't see blue chaps becoming worth their weight in gold. but we'll see). Its an impressive display of costume armor, but i was incredibly underwhelmed by your functional gear (i.e. UVs on armors and weapons you actually use).

Mukei I haven't spent much money on spiral knights, and like I said, I have a job, I've spent less than 3 days of work on spiral knights, and I work 5-6 days a week.
You need to grow up child, it's going to be hard for you to adjust to the real world if you act like you do.

I'm surprised too, but similar to what Rommil said. You do have that CTR VH DA, but aside from that the UVs seem to be matching what I expect of the typical super-long player. I just expected that if you were able to had a method to earn 500kcr before, and even 200kcr now, that you would be swimming in a ton of Max UVs. I mean, mediums aren't really expensive themselves.
You sure you weren't exaggerating with your crown output at least?

Uh, Chris didn't keep the method a secret. I can easily believe people made 500k cr per day back before the 5/17 patch that introduced the AH, changed the recipe/crafting prices, and kept 4*/5* items bound. That was much more to do with the player base back then though. Experienced players were few and far between, you had to have been a beta player or played a *LOT* right after the game opened. Lots of demand for 4*/5* items and not many people who could craft them or do T3 runs to get the 5* mats. More over, the price of recipes were so high that it was often cheaper to buy premades from crafters than to try to craft items yourself.
There was a similar gold rush when the steam players came along. There is an old post where someone took a brand new alt, used the mist tanks and their knowledge to leverage up something like 200k-300k in something like 3 hours time. That gold rush lasted for over two weeks.
I missed the first gold rush, but made a killing in the second. Sadly, we are unlikely to see a third such period.

Most likely these new rose sets won't be worth so much at all.
Why you ask?
I know a lot of kids already stalked up on these sets like crazy. I think between myself and three friends we have well over 40+ of each color. The reason why the Red, Black, and White sets are worth so much is people did not stock up on them insanely, and they clearly look better than the new rose line. I personally, do not see these sets going crazy up in value due to the fact there is well over 1k+ of each color still around where as in the first series of Rose items not many were around.
As for your inventory not bad, but seen a lot better. Why not follow the forum rules and not take personal jabs at people telling people to grow up, and then making fun of them isn't really an adult thing to do, but then again I would not know since I am only 8 years old.

Well, I do remember that time, forgot he mentioned it was during the AH rush. Earned 50kce myself that time even.
But earning 200kcr a day in this market is what's surprising me. I can pull off that type of profit in a week only, and that's after using the AH. How he can do it clockworks only is astounding (though I didn't factor looping yet).

How many people are lining up to buy these sets?....Sets were worth less than that when they came out as well. Im just saying my personal view on the market I can be wrong and you can be right, but we just have to wait and see how it plays out to get a clear answer.
@Volebamus -- My arsenal is pretty much private not even all my guildmates know what I have in there it is pretty much a mystery...Sometimes I log-in and look through it and think to myself when the hell did I get that sword or gun? Wait what I have a max uv on this....One day I even found a magikat hat in my inventory, but it turned out it was a Boswick trolling me.

The steam launch was a boon for savvy players. When steam launched i was making 10-30k ce a day!!!!! I made over 100k ce the 1st week. As well as crafted about 4 pieces of max/VH gear<---2* gear was selling for more than it cost to make, effectively i was being paid to craft. I anticipated the increase in mats value (altho i did not realize they would increase so much) so i spent over 1/2 million in cr buying mats before steam launch. That 1/2 million in mats became about 5 million cr (or more) after reselling to steam. Swordstones went from 1-200 cr to 1-2k cr. Heavy gears were selling for 6k. And so on.

new rose regalia
i agree with njthug. (and i also agree i could end up being wrong). I had initially planned on stocking up and making a massive fortune. But then numerous things conspired to make me decide not to.
#1. (debatable, i admit, but not "highly" debatable). The new rose regalia doesn't look nearly as good as the old. The least desirable of the old sets (red) looks considerably better than the best (gold) of the new sets. --all IMO.
#2. Rarity. The new rose regalia will never NEVER be as rare as the old rose regalia. You'll be hard pressed to ever sell a new set for 40k ce. why, if someone says "i'll give you 40k ce for your blue set" someone else--myself included--will say WHOA...NO NO NO. BUY MINE FOR 39K CE. and so on. There isn't a person out there at the moment who wouldn't jump at the chance to sell a blue set for 15k ce. Sooo many merchants stocked up on this item. there are well over double digit people with over double digit sets. Everyone saw what happened with the initial rose regalia and jumped into the speculation game on the new sets.
#3. Exclusivity. You were part of an exclusive club to have an original rose regalia set. There were not a ton of them still on line. I stopped to look at people wearing them, and after awhile, it was like, of course, thats nikkis, thats repartee, thats pula, thats....ect. Now, every random has a set--90% new rose regalia. But it is no longer a show of wealth and/or exclusivity. Furthermore, after the first event it appeared as if it was your only chance to ever be in rose regalia. But now that they've had a second promotion it would be obtuse to think that there will not be a third, fourth, etc... So if you want "one of those cool hats" it is no longer "welp, ya gotta pony up 40k + CE or do without" its now, buy one for 4-6k ce, or just wait awhile and they'll do another event.
#4. Speculative assumptions. And to take it a step further, i'd still love to have a red set. But i'm not willing to pay 50k+ CE for it becasue i suspect that they very well may some day re-release the original rose regalia. [even if it was a once a year thing] or they may make them attainable again in some other fashion. Costume rolling station, lockbox reward, random item drop, etc... unlikely, but could happen. And if THEY EVER DID rerelease the original rose regalia, that'd make the new rose regalia worth even that much less. not only would it they not be as cool, exclusive, or rare, but they'd also surely roll back around.
--and to teh point of new rose regalia events. It is fairly safe to assume sooner or later they will introduce more colors. I could see a valentines event with pink, purple, and orange. (two colors to please the ladies, and orange b/c well, i needed a third color). And given the underwhelming visuals of the new 3 i am hard pressed not to think the next 3 willl look better.
OF course, i could be wrong. but i don't think i am. or i would have bought up 5+ sets of each like you did.

1. I think the new set looks great, I particularly like the blue and green. It's just personal preference, if the sets were all the same value, I'm sure people would like the new colors more ;) Also, the price of the old sets makes the new sets even more desireable, they are affordable, in comparison.
2. They will be worth less because of more stock ups etc.
But they are already worth 5x as much as I paid for them, so I'm ahead a boatload already.
3. It's always just been a costume for some, and an investment for others. People who are starting to play spiral right now will be like omg those rare costumes when they see the rose redux.
4. They will not re-release the new sets, I doubt they will do another rose regalia event, and if they do it may only be one or two colors, like orange on halloween and pink on valentines day. They will do different events that will give new costume items or other desireables. If they did re-release the new sets, it would piss off the only people who matter to them, the people who buy 50k+ ce with real money.
